Redhead Equipment has an exciting career opportunity for a Divisional Accountant based in our Regina head office.

At Redhead Equipment we do Whatever It Takes to meet the needs of our customers and have been doing so for over 75 years. We deliver the most dependable brands of agricultural, truck and construction equipment across 14 locations in Saskatchewan.

We are seeking an experienced Divisional Accountant to support one of our affiliated dealership operations. This is a unique opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in an autonomous, end-to-end environment. Based out of our head office, you will be a visible and integrated member of our finance team while serving as the dedicated accounting resource for one of our affiliated dealerships. Your day-to-day work will pertain entirely to the affiliated dealership’s financial operations, with guidance and oversight provided by our Corporate Controller and CFO.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical accounting skills, dealership or asset-intensive industry experience, and the ability to manage these responsibilities from our Regina location.

Key Abilities:

Strong working knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices
High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and completeness
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience with dealership management software is an asset
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Professional, collaborative approach with the ability to build strong working relationships with our affiliated dealership’s team.

As a primary accountant for the affiliated dealership, your responsibilities will include;
General Ledger & Financial Reporting

Maintain the full general ledger for the affiliated dealership, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including consolidated financials
Complete monthly gross margin analysis by department and product line, identifying and explaining variances to management
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare regular financial analysis and reporting packages for senior management, including variance explanations, meaningful analysis and key performance indicators

Reconciliations & Payables

Complete various GL account reconciliations, identifying variances and preparing related entries
Assist with the accounts payable and account’s receivable function

Audit & Compliance

Assist with the annual external audit process, including preparation of working papers and responding to auditor inquiries
Ensure accounting practices are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation

Other

Serve as the primary point of communication between our head office and the affiliated dealership, fostering a collaborative relationship and ensuring alignment on financial matters, reporting expectations, and operational priorities
Proactively identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, streamline workflows, and drive operational efficiencies, while actively looking for areas to create positive change across the dealership
Assist with additional accounting duties as assigned by the Controller and CFO

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

CPA designation required, or active enrollment in the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) with a clear path to completion
3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated ability to manage an accounting function with a high degree of independence
Experience in a dealership, equipment, automotive, is a strong asset
Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting, including financial statement preparation and reconciliations
