Full job description

Job Title: Liquor Store Sales Associate

Employment Type: Part Time/Full Time

Located in the heart of downtown Victoria the Strath Liquor Merchants is looking for a sales associate to join our team of knowledgeable liquor industry professionals. We are currently looking for enthusiastic people to hire at all levels. Part time positions are available with the ability to reach Full-time hours; all with compensation packages ranging from $19-$23 per hour, depending on experience. In the store we foster a knowledge-based environment, striving to offer top-notch product information to our varied clientele. Our unique selection of products range from top-shelf Scotch whisky to locally produced craft beers - and every niche in between!

Check out the store, and if you’re looking to find a place to learn, have fun, and work hard, apply to join our team. Available shifts are flexible, including a mix of days and evenings. Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Duties include but are not limited to:

providing an outstanding shopping experience by exceeding our customer's needs and expectations
maintaining product knowledge
responding to customer inquiries
providing recommendations to meet customer needs and upselling to increase sales
cashier functions, processing timely and accurate customer purchase transactions (in-store and on the webstore)
adhering to all company policies and legal requirements
ensuring stock levels are maintained - restocking and rotating product inventory
other operational responsibilities as experience dictates

REQUIREMENTS

Valid Serving it Right Certificate, required
Knowledge of wine/beer/spirits, and a strong desire to learn
must be able to lift 40lbs and stand for long periods of time
Top-notch customer service skills
Previous liquor store or retail experience is an asset
