Full job description

Summit Veterinary Pharmacy is currently looking for a Registered Pharmacy Technician to fill one full-time vacancy in our busy Pharmacy Operations Department.

Located in Aurora, Ontario, Summit has been supplying prescription compounded medications to veterinary clinics across Canada for over 20 years. Our mission is to set the standard for excellence in veterinary compounding; enabling veterinarians to fulfill their commitment to their clients' health and well-being.

Principle Responsibilities:

Accept verbal prescriptions as outlined by the Ontario College of Pharmacists
Respond to messages and make the necessary call-backs
Assist with the organization of the“24 Hour” and “Back Order” bins
Verify and sign all approved areas within the Pharmacy
Assist with maintaining Kroll’s organization (active/non-active drug cards, etc.)
Re-train compounding Assistant’s when necessary (CQI incident, etc.)
Answer non-therapeutic questions assisting the Pharmacists
Perform other related duties as required by management

Preferred Skills:

Kroll prescription software knowledge is an asset, but not a requirement.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Computer literacy
Customer service/telephone etiquette
Great initiative and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a group
Meticulous- willing to learn and work in a constantly changing environment
Be punctual and maintain a good attendance record
Bilingual (French/English) is an asset

Educational Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
Associates degree, Trade or Technical School Diploma
Registered as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
Fully Insured

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday 10:00am to 6:30pm (Subject to change)
May be required to work additional hours

Pay: $30.00-$33.00 per hour
