About the Opportunity
Do you enjoy working with your hands while finding solutions to challenges that often arise with the manufacturing of plastic profile? Kostklip is seeking a self-motivated and innovative Journeyman Machinist, or experienced Apprentice Machinist who wants to be part of a growing custom tool & die manufacturing department. You would be joining an experienced team of journeyman machinists and die designers during the day shift of 7:00AM to 3:30PM, where you would be involved in the manufacturing of high precision tools and dies. This position is a great fit for an individual with a high attention to detail, who takes pride of their work, and is interested in developing their design skills along with their existing machining skills.
Responsibilities include:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to running a CNC mill, wire EDM, manual lathe and mill, precision grinder, along with other common machine shop tools.
- Create programs, set up and operate CNC Milling and Wire EDM machines, training provided.
- Interpret and understand drawings and other furnished specifications.
- Inspect parts to ensure conformance to specification and drawing tolerances.
- Work with a sense of urgency and prioritise tasks with little supervision.
- Collaborate with other team members to solve technical issues and maintain production schedule.
- Safely moving parts and materials with the use of equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Comply with company safety and work policies.
Candidate Qualifications and Skills:
- Journeyman machinist from an accredited academic program, apprentice machinist with completion of level 2 exams, OR equivalent work experience in a tool & die manufacturing setting.
- CNC experience including creating and editing your own programs
- Experience with Cad software, SolidWorks or similar would be a major asset.
- Set up and operating a Wire EDM would be a major asset, training provided.
- Experience with creating prototypes, jigs and fixtures would be an asset.
- Able to operate all common manual machining equipment.
- Able to work on your feet for several hours and lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Competence with all common machine shop ancillary equipment such as pedestal grinders, drill presses, belt sanders, etc.
- Strong oral and written English communication skills a must.

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
