Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in a Full Time / Permanent capacity in Ucluelet, British Columbia. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and hands-on experience in maintenance tasks. The position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and repair.

Duties

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs promptly to minimize downtime
Use hand tools and power tools to perform maintenance tasks effectively
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections
Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all maintenance activities
Respond quickly to emergency repair requests to support continuous operations
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times

Experience

Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing setting
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues accurately
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Familiarity and experience with electrical systems, plumbing and Welding is a plus
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Prior experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is advantageous
