Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting the following challenging position to join our operations team:

Development Jumbo Miner

Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a long-term track record of creating value for all stakeholders through solid financial performance, low-cost production growth, and a company-wide commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. We currently operate three mines – two in Canada and one in Mexico – and we have a strong portfolio of development stage projects, including the Lynn Lake Project and Island Gold Phase 3+ Expansion in Canada, and Puerto Del Aire Project in Mexico. Alamos also has an early-stage exploration project in Canada, the Qiqavik Gold Project. Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. This is a very exciting time at Young-Davidson, and we are searching for highly motivated and committed people to join our team!

Reporting to the Supervisor, Mine Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for the operation of a single and /or double boom jumbo drilling rig for underground development mining with the installation of ground support.

Primary Responsibilities:

Scaling and doing pre-operation inspection of work site
Filling 5 point card and maintain accurate operating records, including daily work reports
Prepare face for jumbo drilling
Mark face for jumbo drilling
Drill development rounds, slashes, back-slashes, benches, safety bays etc…
Load development rounds
Install ground support using the Jumbo Drill
Install ground support occasionally using a Maclean Bolter or handheld drills
Install and/or repair mine services (Air/Water/Pumping, vent. duct, jumbo cable)
Muck development rounds
Dewatering pumps installation
Contribute to and establish effective workplace relationships
- Provide face status update to relevant people at the end of shift (supervisor and coworkers)
- Provide support to services/loading crews when required
- Provide support to rest of development crew (including coaching and mentorship)
All other tasks as directed by supervisor

Pay or shift range: $42.22 CAD to $49.35 CAD
