I'd recommend ACASS to people who are confident contributors and collaborators. People who are capable, driven, and proactive do great here. The company serves an international client base and it's really a multicultural, collaborative environment with a real sense of community. It's definitely an empowering place for women and has strong female leaders, managers, and employees. ACASS has workshops and training so you can develop professionally, benefits and RRSP plans, virtual healthcare for you (and your family), extended paid holidays, and flex time. Their corporate headquarters is very nice and has a gym and a fully-stocked kitchen with free daily breakfast, snacks, drinks, Nespresso coffee, etc. The company has a slogan - "own your journey" - which applies to clients and employees as well. Meaning they want you to be a leader in your own role and accountable for your career, growth, communication, work relationships, performance, and happiness at work.  Not everyone can do that, so it's not a one-size-fits-all-personalities company. A few years ago, the company defined its core values to strengthen its culture and group of like-minded talent. Some people on the outside of that culture shift held out for a while but then finally left in the last year or two because they no longer fit in. True to character, a few were pretty critical, blameful, and gossipy on their way out. It's definitely not a workplace for people who like to work in isolation, focus on the negative, offload responsibility, or avoid lessons that could be channeled into improvement. But if their values and competencies (found on their website, written in job posts, talked about in interviews... they are definitely not hiding them) are your own, you'll thrive. It's certainly been a great place for my career.

Tremendous potential to thrive and grow here. If you are smart and passionate about what you do, the company will work with you to find or even create a role that will make the most of what you have to offer. The industry is competitive, and can be demanding at times, so it’s not the best place for phone-it-in types, but I’ve never felt overwhelmed. Ownership is approachable,  open-minded, and genuinely listens to staff input. Vast majority of co-workers are talented, supportive, and really nice people to work with.

ACASS is a wonderful company to work for. The environment is warm, welcoming and professional. When peers offer their help, they actually take the time and follow through; when superiors offer guidance and mentorship, it’s sincere. What I liked most about working there was that the learning and growth opportunities are vast, yet tangible; if you express the desire to learn something, someone will, without a doubt, facilitate that learning process. If I had to summarize my experience as an ACASS employee with a single expression, I would use “you get out what you put in”. It’s a great organization, at the center of an incredibly exciting industry. 

When we look for a place to work, we hope to find a place where we can learn, grow, and be challenged. Also, a place where our colleagues and managers are supportive and inclusive. That’s what I found at ACASS. Serious and professional business conduct. Friendly and familiar breakfast gatherings and birthday celebrations.  The grass is not always greener on the other side but what I discovered when I came to ACASS is that the grass is most certainly greener here. You just have to do your part and it won’t go unnoticed.

All the team members are welcoming. There is no micromanagement, but you will need to work at a good pace to get things done on time. 
There is definitely a lot you can learn at ACASS. Company has a strong culture of respect for everyone and humility & really follows through with all company values.

In applying to ACASS I had been looking for a company with good values and a culture that puts their people first (a shift from the toxicity I had experienced elsewhere), and this is exactly what I found. They put time into proper onboarding and orientation, prioritize internal transfers/career growth, and from top to bottom, they act in line with their shared values. 

I was responsible for the management of aviation projects for Acass in partnership with Bombardier aerospace. Daily acitivities included flight operations managment, staff recruitment, and financial tracking and analysis.

The most enjoyable part of the role was the travel and the people I met from various countries and worked with.

ACASS cannot hold onto staff. Awful culture, extreme toxicity, and inequitable treatment and compensation. The company just hired the CEO’s sister as an office manager and then immediately laid-off the existing manager who had been there for years supposedly for financial reasons. Nepotism is rampant throughout the organization. 

It hurts to write this but ACASS is not the same company it was a couple years ago. Many changes in management, policy, and culture. Decisions are made with questionable ethics and the workforce is like a revolving door. Other than senior management, employee retention simply does not exist. Avoid avoid avoid.

acass takes great pride in sharing their core values - they are even shown in a beautiful mural at the head office. These values however are rarely applied with the treatment of colleagues or in the way they conduct business. The turnover of employees reflects this and is at the time of this review at an unsustainably high level.
