Action Collections and Receivables Management

Training was an absolute joke. They will have you listen to/read a few hours of outdated PowerPoint slides then pair you up with a few agents who you will “shadow” and be trained by. Keep in mind, these agent ARE NOT TRAINED to train you, so you are literally being set up to fail. These agents will be too focused on their own work and taking calls (to hit their monthly targets) to properly train you enough to succeed.

Workplace dynamic is even worse, it’s very hard to do your work when on one end of the office, you hear your manager yelling over the phone and swearing from time to time. It’s very unprofessional and the negativity spreads making it really toxic to work in, not very helpful as the job itself is already high stress. On top of that you are surrounded by seasoned agents who just at times sound cruel and rude when speaking to debtors, you definitely would not want your parents to be spoken to the same way by these agents. The whole workplace culture is just a mess; everyone is too annoyed /frustrated and it really shows.

Lastly, they will let you go if you do not make any collections in the first month or so (they do not tell you this). The issue is most collections were made through inbound calls. During my time there, I only had a few hours doing inbound calls and the majority of the time was outbound calls, so I was barely given a chance succeed.

Collection Agent - Former Employee

I have worked at several agencies over the years but not like this one.  Your are expected to make money almost right away.  Even if you are new their expectations a too high.  Doesn't matter when you start during the month they expect you to put in extra time including an extra Saturday.  The managers are constantly yelling across the office at you "Where's the money! Where's the money!".  The owner of the company is always yelling & swearing at the managers or lack of work done by staff. At times walking back and forth on the collection floor yelling and swearing and even threatening to cut agents pay because people were having a hard time collecting on accounts. It was like watching a 4 year old having a temper tantrum!! Some agents are very aggressive then talking to debtors.  It is not a good place to work.  I would not recommend it anyone.

By far the Worst collection agency ive ever worked for here's why!!:
-You get yelled at 90% of the time by the manager
-The OWNER does not communicate with his employees at all, even when you walk pass by him. 
-The manager tries and manipulate you to do more work with the same pay
-Vacation request gets denied every time
-No activities whats so ever
-Your asked to work every weekend
-Very toxic environment 
-The manager gossips about coworkers personal business out loud
-If you say you quit!!!! She will make up a story and say she fired you!!
-The manager may seem sweet , but once you turn your back aroud its a whole different story. Dont trust her

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENT, AND WAYYY TO REPETITIVE. You do the same thing every single day.

*A typical day at work - Uploads, downloads, incoming mail, data entry, answering phones, corresponding with various vendors or suppliers, helping employees with various computer software issues, outgoing mail
*What you learned - Area of expertise so assisted with growing company to get to the next level
*Management - Small company so one person was in charge of various departments
*Your co-workers - The interaction with the employees were always on a professional level because of the various jobs titles
*The hardest part of the job was the numerous hours worked
*The most enjoyable part of the job - the variety of job functions on a daily basis

Working at Action Collection and Receivable Management has been a great experience. As a Dialer Agent, I’ve had the tools and support I need to do my job well from efficient systems to helpful team leads who guide us every step of the way. The training here is thorough, and I’ve developed strong communication and negotiation skills while helping clients resolve their debts. I also appreciate the positive work environment and the recognition we receive for hitting our goals. It feels good to be part of a team that values integrity and professionalism!

Debt collection is a tough job and rewarding only for those who have the ability to deal with negative situations all day long.

The company is very positive and gives each employee training and direction on a daily basis.

There are alot of rules in collections, tons of red tape - but it can be financially rewarding and help advance your career in a tremendous way.

i worked at this company for over a year and the only reason for leaving was to return to school in a different province, if I return to Toronto and need a job I will certainly work here again

Working at Action Collections and Receivables Management is a great experience. It's fast-paced with a tight-knit team, but collections can be tough. You sharpen your skills, and the pay's good with commission potential. If you're up for a dynamic job with growth, ACRM's worth a look!

This employer is rude and very disrespectful to both staff and entry level employees, there is no sense of professionalism at all, staff is constantly degraded and treated like they are robots. You cannot miss a day of work or you are threatened to loose employment even when documentation is provided, I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone.  'TOXIC ENVIROMENT"

Management is great and Flexible. The culture in this company is one of the best I have known!. Senior management genuinely want you to succeed. The online training sessions for new hires are very well structured. I had to leave due to personal reason but wouldn't hesitate on returning in future.
