ARE THE HOURS LONG? Yes, they can be…it’s a service company. And this company strives for customer service, which means they provide service 24/7. Want more hours, you can have them. 
HOW IS THE ON CALL? We all take turns doing oncall, and if we have to work a weekend, we get 4 days off. That’s awesome to spend time with family and catch up on what ever we want.
HOW IS THE PAY? Is there ever enough? Always is above industry standard
HOW IS THE WORK? It’s hvac, plumbing, and gas service work, along with Reno’s. They don’t set you up for failure (send you to jobs your not familiar/comfortable with) but they do allow you to learn new things, 
HOW ARE THE PEOPLE? We all get along very well, and are usually all sharing a laugh a day. Very easy going and all are welcome to help/teach you what you want to know. 
HOW IS THE MANAGEMENT? They focus on customer service. They offer us regular training to help us with that. Do they discipline you? Yes, after numerous attempts at helping you. The owner will never be one to sit behind a desk and bark orders. He is the first to help you get all need. He also is not afraid to get his hands dirty, and is often seen out in the field. Management always have an open door policy, even though they prefer you make an appointment. 
HOW ARE THEY WITH VACATION/TIME OFF? I’d say they are way to easy. If you want time off, they give it to you (with proper notice, of course) 
WHAT DO THEY EXPECT OF ME? We are to show up on time and ready to work (attitude, appearance, and with proper tools for the trade)

As you can see, I quite like this company and what they stand for. Of course everyone/thing has room for improvement, but I find Always understands this and strives to improve their staff, company and customer relations for the better. 

Residential service plumbing and heating, with a strong team of techs and helpers. Lots of help and coordination from management, and they will listen to your concerns and work with you to be where you want to be.

 Great training and encouragement and excellent help on problem solving/learning. They use service titan which is a great tool for success, you can see who has been to the job before you, lots of pictures and notes help you wrap your mind around things on the way. 

Not every call is “get it done or else,” there is the obvious self motivation and skill that it takes to be a journeyman or woman and consistent success is always a part of excelling in the trades, but if you aren’t able to complete the task or it is out of your scope, there is tons of support. 

Totally recommend, they’ve gone above and beyond to work with me and meet my needs. 

I am a technican on the plumbing side and have been with the company for multiple years. Service work is  not for the faint of heart as you need to know your trade well, be a problem solver and think on your feet. If you have these attributes then you will do well at Always. I work with a great group of people, field and office. There is always a willing hand to help when needed. For any service company its hard to find that work life balance (good customer services requires taking care of your customers first) but I have to say they are always willing to accommodate and will work with you to find the right schedule. Being a busy company also means that I have no worries when it comes to paying the bills. I show up everyday and do my best and everyone wins.

Working within a construction and service company has it's challenges. Customers can request things that need attention right away and this company and its staff bend over backwards to help.
Management is great they help out if needed and will strap on a tool belt if needed. If you have any kind of questions they are there to help you get the answers that you need.
Safety is number one with this company as they are under core regulations. I am very happy working here and have been for 8 + years, sorry to read the reviews from the people that no longer work here and feel that it is a bad and unsafe place to work. We have pancake breakfast, BBQ, and lunch once and awhile and all staff are invited. We all pitch in and help make it all work for everyone!

What is the best part of working at the company?
The ability to work from home was the best thing about the job

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Unclear direction.  The constant changing of rules.  Toxic work environment.  No support.  No work/life balance.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is a toxic environment where a few staff are favoured.  Upper Management will appear helpful at first, but you quickly learn that the are anything but helpful.  Management is overly critical and the empty is always to blame.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Working more hours than you should.  Expected to be accessible at a moments notice.

I've been at Always for about a year and half. After working in the Trades for 15 years. And having a variety of employers from 4 person companies to 100 plus employee companies. Always is in my top three of employers. Not only having the resources to complete a job effectively but encouraging ways to improve on work. But just as importantly is the varied experience of the team. The companies willingness and encouragement to specialize and expand your expertise and skillet. Threw work shops, on the job experience, and accommodating time off needed for school and upgrading.

A typical day at work was to start at 6:30am to get ready for the day. Check in with staff to ensure all jobs are scheduled and parts are ready. 
When first on-boarding management will be supportive…. But that’s where it ends. Once you have completed on-boarding you will be left to your own devices. 
Workplace culture is toxic at best, you will be scolded on the daily and told what a poor job you are doing. You will be micromanaged to the point of inducing panic attacks. 
Hardest part of the job was the long hours with very little direction from on how you should manage your time and tasks. 
Best part of the day was going home. 

No work/life balance. The worst management I’ve ever experienced. 22 years in business and not one plumber there longer than 5yrs, the turnover rate is huge because of the terrible manager (that’s been there 18yrs and is extremely bitter). They had a few good people but they too were being mistreated and mismanaged. I guess if you’re a garbage plumber you might enjoy working here seeing how they don’t care if you’re good at your job if you’re good at selling people stuff they don’t need. They don’t really want good tradesmen, they want salesman so they can rip off their customers. 

To put this in such few words....never a dull day....bounced around from job to job and everyone smokes from ALL the stress

At least there, if you smoke, you don't have to go outside as there's ashtrays right at the back counter and you can flick butts in the men's toilet or on the ground anywhere

Under-paid salaried employee's will die eventually from smoking packs of cancer a day.......must be they don't do enough yoga

What ever you want to call it is listen to your Journeyman and if you don't FIFO

They will replace you.

Overall it’s a fun and great place to work at.
The team of managers work hard to make sure everyone is set up to win. They have had company golf functions, staff parties and pancake breakfasts and now that Covid restrictions have lifted the team meet every morning to determine how the busy schedule affects daily operations.
With a large warehouse staffed to stage and setup packages to best help the team get into their updated outfitted vans and head out to help numerous repetitive clients.
