Review Summary
A Typical Day at Work:
My time working at Avalon Ford was largely disappointing, particularly when it came to the payment structure and the way the company treated its employees. A typical day consisted of long hours, with a lot of tasks expected to be completed quickly, but there was little to no recognition for the effort. While I was constantly working hard to meet targets, I couldn’t help but feel like I wasn’t being compensated fairly for the level of effort and time I was putting in.

What I Learned:
I learned that Avalon Ford does not value its employees as much as it should, especially in terms of compensation. Over time, I realized that the job was more about maintaining the company’s image of being a “successful business” rather than providing adequate support for those actually doing the work.

Management:
The management team was unorganized and seemed to be more focused on increasing their profits rather than caring for the well-being of employees. Despite working in a fast-paced and often high-pressure environment, I didn’t feel that management understood the challenges employees faced on a day-to-day basis. Requests for support were often ignored, and the response to concerns or questions was often dismissive. There was little communication about expectations, and when problems arose, management rarely offered solutions.

Workplace Culture:
The culture at Avalon Ford was one of disarray. It felt like a high-turnover environment where people were hired to work hard and leave quickly. There was no sense of team cohesion or camaraderie. People often felt isolated, and it was difficult to connect with coworkers, as many were constantly stressed out by the disorganization. Team-building activities or efforts to improve workplace morale were non-existent. It was an environment where employees were treated as disposable rather than valued members of the team.

The Hardest Part of the Job:
The hardest part of the job was the complete lack of recognition for hard work. Despite consistently meeting performance expectations, the compensation remained stagnant, and there was no incentive to go above and beyond. The payment structure was the worst part, as it did not reflect the effort put in by employees. The workload was demanding, and the company did not provide adequate support to help employees succeed.

The Most Enjoyable Part of the Job:
To be completely honest, there were very few enjoyable parts about the job. The only positive was interacting with some of my coworkers, but even that became a challenge due to the toxic work environment.

Final Thoughts:
In conclusion, my experience at Avalon Ford was marked by dissatisfaction in nearly every area, from low pay to poor management to lack of job security. It’s a company that seems more focused on profits than on fostering a healthy, rewarding work environment for its employees. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for employment, as the opportunities for growth and fair compensation are extremely limited.

Well as an appointment coordinator you can imagine what I deal with in the run of a day. No one calls happy to book an appointment unless it is regular service. Trying to coordinate appointments with the techs and the work they can do along with the amount we can do a day can be stressful, But I handle it.  I have learned time management, call management, and my work load is balanced. Depending on the department you work in service sales parts, management is different. Could use a lot more communication. We all take care of each other when needed co workers are easy to get along with . I love trying to figure out what could be the issue when the customer calls with an issue and describes it to me, being mechanically inclined certainly helps in any dealership to properly book in the customer for the right tech to look at what the concern could be. The hardest part is trying to book according to the workload and the concern if it is a safety issue and if we fit it in will it be done, we do our very best many people may not think we do. All around I could definitely see myself in the automotive industry for a while. I am familiar with different makes and models and there is always something new to learn.

Reasonable pay for the position I was doing there but management is cut throat with extremely degrading attitudes towards employees. Commonly treated like the “you’re only a number” type of approach I wouldn’t get overly comfortable in any position there. Made it past probation no issues. Worked hard. Helped when I could.  Applied internally for advancement many times with no such luck. Fell sick to covid then to come back with my position posted before I was notified of me being terminated. Fellas in the shop are amazing and most service advisors are decent to deal with…… others not so much. Good to get you out of a bind but I would recommend searching elsewhere for a job if you want to enjoy your job. 

I loved my job, I was always half hour early, I missed 0 time, I treated all of the salespeople, office staff , comptrollers and boss with respect and always a smile , I would miss lunch to get something finished , I made mistakes , but asked the office manager for help, it was a pleasant atmosphere , owner was always nice to me, we just worked as a team , as it should be

I really enjoyed my time at Avalon Ford. I worked in the office and felt that it was as good a place to work as anywhere else I had worked. Management that I dealt with were honest and up front and easy to work with. Expectations put on employees are high, but if you did your job, there aren't be any issues.

The office staff I worked with were amazing and made it a great working environment. And the work life balance was very good. 
I only left cause I got an incredible advancement opportunity elsewhere. 

The business is slowing going downhill. Management seems to degrade the employee. The people working on the service floor are all amazing and great to work with. The pay is good. But no dental, medical/insurance keeps going up each year. Also management will take the customers side over the technician on most cases.

Staff are friendly and helpful, and easy to get along with. management is not so much, can be very rude to employees, they go through a slow Season every winter so you can expect your hours to be cut short

It was good, management was a bit iffy, but everyone else made up for it, very friendly and kind, they help you as much as they possible can, the overall environment is amazing, love the friends and people I met here,

The picture they paint is not the reality. Management is the poorest form of leadership that I have ever experienced. I would not recommend employment with this company. Reputation in the industry is true and will not prove otherwise. 

The company has a hatred for unions and is unionized. Sales staff will sabotage you and management is clueless. Finance managers are poorly trained to say the least. Look elsewhere to make a decent wage
