BLAZING KITCHEN

I've worked for Blazing Kitchen and Rancho Relaxo for the last 10 years. There are a lot of guys who have put in 10+ years that still work at Blazing Kitchen today.

It's an extremely fast-paced environment, we cater to the TV and film industry so menu changes and catering time changes occur throughout the day, it's just the nature of the job. We are contractually obligated to meet the production company's standards or we end up paying thousands of dollars in meal penalties for being late or missing food. 
Most new people don't understand these challenges and tend to have a hard time keeping up.

If you put your best foot forward every day and accept that things will change on the fly, you will not only succeed but you can make good money in a place that has pretty flexible hours, is understanding of your medical and personal needs outside of work and will make you a culinary giant capable of staring at any challenge in this industry and smile. I can effortlessly cook a 10-course meal from scratch in 3 hours for 100 ppl, when I first started I could barely hold a knife. 

I've known the owner for many years and yes he can be short with people but he is only short with people who don't put the effort in their job, who show no passion for what they make, and who generally have no concept of teamwork. 
I'll tell you about that man, he donates thousands of pounds of food to various charities, made thousands of burritos for support workers during COVID, and would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and all he's ever asked from anyone is to try, just do your best and you will find a home here that is rewarding.

Workplace culture is worst. The boss is indecisive and changes his mind everyday. There is no set of rules on everything, it all depends on his mood on that day when he woke up. And that is inevitable to change again on the next day or week. There is no progress and growth on your work at all. Everyday is back to square one. But to be fair, you'll get flexible working hours. The managers on the desk is easy to talk to and get along with.

Laid off employees every December and be back around February the next year.

If you value your life stay the away.
If you value your sanity stay away.
If you value your time/money stay away.
If you wanna be a slave for min wage with under 24hr shift notice and time changes with no standby pay...this the place for you. The trucks are not maintained or serviced and are very dangerous to drive and many people have been in accidents and have been blamed..when the breaks are a joke.

Our Boss is so amazing she actually works with you. 
To understand and to know what fits you. 
Always learning something new. 
There is always away to fix something.
You jist have to put your mind to it. 

If you live in Toronto and like the food service industry, this is a good place to work. Very popular with the film production crews and offices around the GTA for its good quality of food, not to mention the great quantities supplied to the clients, Blazing Kitchen has been well thought of for years, and has grown to show its popularity.

A very fun catering kitchen to work in the long hours and hard work pays off with a wonderful paycheque. The staff was very friendly and kind and very helpful with helping out & being a team workplace.

I worked as a Craft service attendant. It paid well. the days were long. It could be challenging at times with crew members being demanding and entitled. Overall it was fun but days were way too long. It is the nature of the movie industry so no complaints overall

Very toxic environment.  Too much politics on this workplace. Giving too much workload on their juniors while seniors are spending time walking around bossing other people. Managers never do anything about it because they also play politics. Workplace not recommended. 

The owner is a control freak. He is arrogant and stubborn and trusts all the wrong people. He sets you up to fail and will never allow real change to occur; he thrives off of chaos. Stay away at all costs if you value you taking care of your mental health

Plenty of work during the late Spring and into early Fall.  However, the hours significantly drop come the winter months. 

A good company for summer students visiting Canada.
