I started my job with this company in an entry level position that included reasonable compensation, the ability to gain extensive bonus' and real room for advancement through hard work.

I eventually moved into a management and then a high level support position.

I learned new ways to communication both with a customer and internally with colleagues, other company co-workers and management from reporting Supervisor to CEO of the company and to Sr. Management of the parent corporation.

It was easy to tell co-workers who where in this job to advance and make a positive contribution, and those who were there for their compensation only.  When working with like-minded individuals it removed most workplace burdens as there was a sense of collaboration, togetherness and shared goals.  This made the workday much easier to go through and eliminated a lot of related work stress.

In my time there I had more than a dozen different managers and almost all were very easy to work with, lived the company philosophies through their work and management styles and were eager to share and teach their skills to improve their direct reports.

The most difficult part of my job was meeting difficult deadlines and having to learn on the fly to meet project requirements.

The most enjoyable part of my job was the real bonus program the company constantly offered.  This was not just through financial compensation but through other means such as tangible rewards, company outings and recognition for a job well done.

The company showed a desire to showcase individuals who had made accomplishments and excelled at aiding struggling workers to do and be better.

Reason for leaving the company was due to relocation to a city where they did not have a presence with available positions.

a typical day at work is receiving inbound and making some outbound collection calls related to personal and business credit cards. i actually like/d doing that and speaking with people and helping them get back on track with their credit card payments. 

what i didn't like was that i was a Bank Of America (BOA) employee only associated/ through a vendor. so basically the bank pays these companies the contract to collect delinquent money from credit cards, and these companies called vendors, employ people at low wages, no benefits, high turn over and which results in low morale. 

BOA has the money to employ people and give these vendor employees benefits, something the vendor i am associated with does not do. BOA is a struggling organization, lots of errors, inconsistencies and no customer service, so they need people like me to make a person or business actually feel good about a plan to get back on track. 

the hardest of the job was dealing with internal staff that had no customer service skills, would not reverse service fees, would provide inconsistent information. the most enjoyable part of the job is helping a customer or business get back on track with their credit card financial life. i would recommend that BOA also hire people associated with vendors. 

sad to say, from what i know i wouldn't recommend doing personal or business, business with BOA, based on how they treat their customers/ clients in collections. just my 2 cents.

Bank of America offers excellent benefits, especially for those families who have children.  
The hardest thing about working in a Bank of America Financial Center is the cuts being made to staff.  The financial centers are losing tellers left and right.  The company is reducing the teller staff in a push to send clients out the door and using alternative methods to do their banking such as online, mobile and ATM banking.  This is putting a huge stress both on our branch staff and on our clients who daily express their discontent and concern that there are not enough associates to assist them.  The teller staff is overworked and overwhelmed by the increased workload from losing their associates due to the cuts.  The management is getting verbally beat up by clients who are very unhappy about the wait time and long lines.  
The most enjoyable part of the job is the team spirit and the associates that we work with every day.  We still try to stay positive and roll with the punches by supporting one another.  
Another great thing that the company offers is childcare reimbursement and emergency child care providers.  
The culture at this company has changed drastically during the time that I've worked at this company and it is hard to embrace the negative changes that have been put into place.  I feel for my associates and our clients for being put through the negative impact due to teller reductions.

The experience of working at BOA I believe is no different than any other bank. I had excellent managers which made my job tolerable. In all fairness I did not come from a financial background and this made it difficult for me to respond to some inquiries. Training was provided and coworkers with banking experience were able to grasp the terminology and specific procedures quickly. Ultimately I did succeed in the job with a manager who provided the supportive input to get me through a slow arduous growth. Unfortunately everyone is not so lucky. Regarding the metrics, every moment of everyday you are confined to your seat according to statically software. If you are fast and know banking procedures you can manage a few free moments to socialize with a coworker. There are changes and new information to mentally process daily but no time is given for this or to manage your emails. Anything outside of incoming phone calls in have to figure out a method to get it done without overtime. Breaks and lunch are to the minute to meet metrics and many employees use some of their personal time to complete work tasks. If you are young and start out in a metric based, core financial environment, and have not experienced a less micromanaged culture you most likely will succeed. 

Not only are we too big to fail we are too big to move up...200K+ employees. You are just a number a warm body in a seat...they say it's easy to move up but they simply either do not know they are blowing smoke up our butts or don't care. They put on these "shows" about career chances but then when you go to speak to the indiviaduals after you cannot get their attention or they are so busy yapping at their peers they forget to speak to you or maybe it was all just for show so they can "show" the upper big wigs they are doing somethng...they need some tracking metrics to see how many out of the 100+ that are at these events actually get to apply in another dept...I was there with 8 other people and they never heard from the managers giving the speech again nor do they return their calls....Advancement is simply just a joke. In other words they talk big and put on a lot of dog and pony shows but there no accountability to promote from within. Several people have been hired in my department from outside the company because they are clsoe friends with a senior leader. They have less job skills, as I am their supervisor, and yet get titles and higher pay. speak of.. The pay is horrendous...they seem to base it off median income for an area...My subordinates in another location actually make 2x what I make and they think they don't get enough.

It was the best experience. I learned so many things in such a short period.

A typical day at work was..
I start at 8 am, go to my office, start taking calls, helping customers with their credit cards issues, do whatever it takes to make the customer satisfied. at lunch, all the co-workers meet at the cafeteria, most of time we talk about every call we had, and what are the procedures we took to resolve the problem and showing the customer that we care about him
The hardest part of the job,
The bank of America, they care, they love and their loyal to their customers, nothing is hard for them if its for the benefit of the customer. However, sometimes it happens that we can't do anything to help the customer, and that's the hardest part.
Bank of America care about their employees, they do so many activities to keep us in a positive mood., almost every day they do a barbecue for us outside, we play soccer, tennis, and so many other activities. I really enjoyed the incentive part, because I love challenge, I love making my customers happy and at the same time, I'm leaving my work with a smile, and I say to myself, I did a great job and I win the incentive.

Culture needs improvement and there was a lack of effective leadership at the market level needed to lead the team members. There is a grinding mentality with very little accountability for people's  actions/results i.e. from peers and throughout  this division. Very good credit process and team. I was able to be effective at my job and deliver in the market place. Excellent treasury management, loss prevention and operations groups. Leasing and merchant processing very competitive and a pleasure to work with day to day. Merrill Lynch deserves more credit for the value they bring to the organization as well to the client base. Highly recommend utilizing the team members within the various departments outside of Business Banking. Small Business team is well led and managed as well as a very effective part of the sales delivery component.

BofA was a great place for me.  I had a series of outstanding managers (12 in 5 years).  The drawback of working for the bank: constant reorganization and lay offs.  Having said that, it is a large organization. It is to be expected.  Otherwise, of what use would HR be?  None.  My colleagues were fantastic.  The work environment was remote, so I did not have anyone managing my time.  I had a lot of latitude - ie I WAS TREATED LIKE A GROWN UP!  Fortunately, I weathered the 2008 financial crisis without getting laid off, but the bank lays off people quarterly.  Eventually the laws of probabilities catch up.  I left the bank after almost 6 years but if I thought there was the possiblity of a long term prospect, I would have stayed.  I have nothing really bad to say about working there.  My expectations were met, people were professional and I liked the job.  What more could one want (other than lots of money!)?

I had the privilege of working both in office and in a work from home program, in both cases it created an excellent home and work life balance.  The in office atmosphere was very good, relaxed and always very team spirited.  BAC gave me many opportunities to be educated in the many regulatory courses needed to stay on top of new laws etc. The harder part fell in the sudden challenges that would come up from time to time but we were always able to circumvent and over come them, I managed a great team.   The most enjoyable part of the job was the people - we had very good relationships and as a manager I was pleased to be recognized and really enjoyed being able to give back to the team for their hard work using BAC's robust recognition programs.
