I worked as a Maintenance Technician at Cerelia, and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing due to extremely poor management. The maintenance supervisor and manager showed a consistent lack of leadership, technical knowledge, and respect for technicians on the floor.

There was no proper planning, preventive maintenance was ignored until breakdown happened, and then technicians were blamed for downtime. Management rarely listened to concerns, safety issues, or realistic workload limits. Decisions were made without understanding the equipment or the challenges faced during production, which caused constant stress and frustration.

Communication was weak, expectations were unclear, and favoritism was obvious. Instead of supporting the maintenance team, management focused on micromanaging and shifting blame. Training, growth opportunities, and recognition were almost non-existent.

If upper management does not change the maintenance leadership and culture, this will continue to affect morale, retention, and equipment reliability. I would not recommend this workplace to maintenance professionals who value respect, teamwork, and proper management support.

Extremely toxic work environment where you're being micro-managed and over-worked. Unrealistic deadlines which are not even required from Corporate (France), just from the internal management to review, leading to chaotic and stressful work life. Management is clueless, as to how to manage a work-force, and arrogant, would badly treat employees underneath - no recognition no mutual respect. In my short tenure with this horrible company of around 1 year, I was working under my fifth boss !! So many people have joined the company and left due to the toxic work environment, leading to such a high employee turnover. HR is also clueless and due to lack of Canadian industry experience, lacks the skillset required to do the job. Avoid this company at all costs even if they're paying little higher than others !!

Cerelia is a good company but the they do not have great leadership team.
The CFO is out of control. She has unrealistic expectations, very aggressive and can easily insult you and no one protects you at all. She is protected with her position.
Turnover is crazy so no knowledge transfer is there, and that is back to the unrealistic expectations and the extremely high stress.
A lot of people leave back to their companies after just one week when they realize there is no way they can deliver on those unrealistic expectations.  In finance in specific I do not recommend at all. Because you will face that conflict between your pride and your need to be working and paid.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not sure , not much chaos and not very organized, I was hired as a buyer but was doing admin work and warehouse inventory, pay is not that great at all .

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
My supervisor and her boss were very tough and they rate me because I was nervous the first time I presented my analysis....not very nice environment, 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not sure not much....everyone for themselves ...

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Trying to survive, and hoping I learn something other then warehouse inventory and data entry.....

There is a high turn over ratio as the company struggles to put a process in place and the management team are not able to fulfill their promises to create a plan for smoothing the process of how the accounting should be done. Furthermore, there is a huge micro managing from the higher level management team and the expectations are way beyond the possibilities. Finally to put everything in short, there is no life and work balance as there are no certainty of what would happen in term of job security.


There are challenges of working at Cerelia, but the sr. Leadership team is committed to fixing that and the actions are quite visible. 
Cerelia is process of transitioning from a family owned business to a corporate company which explains the pressure and stress some people face. 
Cerelia is a great company for experienced individuals to test themselves and their knowledge.
Employees are friendly and so is the management. the top boss is involved in business and makes it a point to meet everyone.  
Definitely worth working here!


Top management typically thinks through their pea brain, which leads to stressing the team, where the employees have sleepless nights. Middle management (SCM) has no spine or backbone, especially to support the team. False promises are made to gain commitments and later they give reasons for not keeping the promise.

Extreamly stressful place, very high expectations KPI, poor management and not respectful to employees, not recommended to work especially in accounting,  finance and IT departments.

This place has a friendly working environment.people  are so nice and helpful.Every one has one-team mind setup.There are many experienced people in the management as well.A growing company  and could grow even more.Well organized neat and clean place to work.
