s a case manager, I have had the privilege of working with a team that is truly dedicated to the well-being and success of our clients. The work environment is supportive, and the company values the input and contributions of its employees.

In summary, working as a case manager for this employer has been a rewarding experience. During the interview process, both the supervisor and the manager were very welcoming, approachable, and personable, which created a positive first impression. My first week also went well. However, during the second week, an issue arose with the supervisor, and when I approached the manager to discuss it, the response I received was unreceptive. I left that conversation feeling dismissed and undervalued.

As time went on, I found the work environment challenging. Many team members appeared consistently overwhelmed and unavailable, which made it difficult to receive adequate support after training. There were extended periods where I was left without clear direction or tasks, yet there was limited opportunity to seek guidance due to everyone’s workload.

Additionally, short breaks (such as a 15-minute or coffee break) were not permitted during the day. The probationary period is six months, during which employment may be terminated without explanation.

Overall, the experience significantly impacted my confidence. I often felt as though my knowledge and capabilities were questioned, which led me to develop considerable trust concerns within the workplace.

The work from home roles and team members. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The volume of work with the constant promise of relief or help on the way but never actually having enough staff. Constantly increasing volume of work and demand, being told by management that they understand and to take our breaks and leave on time, but then constantly reprioritizing to ensure staff knows everything is still expected to get done on the timelines set out prior to high volume and understaff. But still take ur breaks and lunches... and leave on time, but your 9 hour days that allow for every other Friday off could be jeopardized if your not able to keep up... despite working late... all the time. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
False sense of work life balance. Typical corporate environment. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Chaos from the moment you start. Answer phones on a general line so the company doesn't have to employ receptionists. Chase people and their doctors for information, spend between 1 and 6 hours in meetings, work late to make up for meetings, still never feel like you are caught up.

First action of the day check my reminder. Start my day from the most important to the least then by deadline.
I start my day by returning eastern region client calls and update their file or provide basic information. Then I open a file for new client or update clients. Basic translation from english to french and french to english. Every Wednesday I prepare/update client paysheet, and decision letter as directed by adjudicator.
I end my day by filing.

Managers/leaders play favorites. What they say does not reflect their actions. They encourage work-life balance but demands are high and if you want to do your job well, you have to be able to keep up with your duties and work outside of your comfort zone. All this for no appreciation to be expected in return. Expect not to hear good things from your hard work, but they do point out your mistakes and restrict anything that can potentially create a small scar in their image.

I was hired for one position but thrown into three different roles with very little training.  The trainer was just starting in her position and did not explain anything in detail from the beginning.  I felt like i was barely afloat on a sinking ship the majority of my time there.

Disorganized company to work for with inadequate pay. Constant changes in protocol and a lack of team work by the management. Many staff quit during my time there. However, there is a lot of work available to keep you busy and it is all administrative work if that is something you find enjoyable.

This is a great company. Management is supportive and coworkers are great people. Training was limited which caused some stress. I only left because I was having  some health issues. I highly  recommend this company especially if you have previously worked in LTD. My only complaint was the Training period.

Worklife balance was great,however, the company lacked in management skills and supporting their staff. Working long hours with no compensation and little appreciation.
