Elk Ridge Resort

At the time of my hiring the company was going through some major upper management upheaval and financial issues. This caused many changes within the various departments and created issues such as non existent SOP’s (standard operating procedures), which left a lot of room open for errors. This in turn left many unhappy clients. It was incredibly stressful. I was a department manager and the hours were horrendous. I didn’t have enough staff to provide the level of service as I would have liked to. There was a lot of employee sharing between departments and having enough staff on shift without falling into overtime was impossible. Most of my fellow employees were wonderful and the salary and benefits were great. I t was the work/life balance that was bad. I worked 6-7 days a week, most days were at least 10-12 hr days. Not worth it to me.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Best part was the employer's were fabulously welcoming and great team work. House keeping  also awrsome. Simply  sanitizing cabins, town houses, motel, cottages
 The places were practically respected by the  renters.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No stress at all
 I like work and it was provided  successfully by  employers.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was great, ive worked there 4 yrs ago.  I loved working there. Employes are great, team work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Elk Ridge provides alot of environmental  activities, to keep you rolling. No  typical  day without enjoyment here at Elk Ridge.

just be prepared to get a lot of deductions off your cheque, such as a social club deducation, a rent deducation and a rent deposit deduction that they don't tell you about, pay cheques are very little after working so hard for two weeks, then u get what u need and your broke again. if your single and you don't have kids, this might be the place for you, but if u have a partner or have kids, this will not be the place for you. and with the wages they pay, you wont be able to save any money. if you move into staff accomodations, you bring your own shower stuff, bedding, you pay for your own food, you bring your own dishes, and you have to find your own way there and back.

You are 10 minutes from a lake

Management and other coworkers 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Clean, and diverse. You really have to enjoy golf to absolutely love it up there

Quiet on most days, Stressful and chaotic on others

It was pleasure to work there it was excellent to work there and I got my Canada life from resort. Because I was there as a close work permit and I got my permanent residency from elk ridge resort and they help me out for all my documents I needed for permanent residency so glad to work with them and it’s superb all only little difficulty when I got my family there cause it was bit away from City.

Upselling constantly in moving inventory

Great management team with a family environment.  Lots to do if you are an out door type person, winter has skiing, snow shoeing, ice skating, ice fishing and more.  Use of all amenities free of charge for all employees.  Management team is supportive and gives great direction when needed.

Woking with open minded person in the working place with love and adopt the different cultures practice of socializationis to keep learning to improve the daily task to be easy and make great everyday

The most awesome summer job I've had yet.  Getting up early isn't so bad when you work in a forest.  Management is excellent and professional as well as understanding.  Learned grounds maintenance on a golf course and resort as well as how to operate some small machinery.

It's a good place to work that offers benefits that other places don't. You get staff discounts on means and gift shop items and golf. They provide staff housing at a greatly reduced cost. And you can't beat the scenery.
