Every company experiences periods of good and bad. Pre-covid, the company culture and morale was a lot better. Communication and expectations were clear, management was engaging with the staff a lot more and the overall experience was mostly enjoyable. Far from perfect, but much better.

This progressively has gotten worse over the past few years especially after the company moved locations. New management has not improved the decline and as of recent made it worse. Little to no communication, no leadership, terrible culture and bad management has led to worsening employee morale, unclear expectations, loss of valuable technical staff and overall negative experience.

The hours can be unpredictable some days which can lead to longer than anticipated work days even when not on call. Knowing if you're doing a good job is unknown but you will quickly know if you did a bad job. There seems to be a lack of care or focus on hiring or retaining experienced technical staff which creates a lot more work for the senior technical staff. No one seems to really know what’s going on and will constantly shift blame on others. Advising management of on-going issues gets dismissed and goes nowhere. Very unorganized and the same mistakes are constantly being made. Caring about your job will only stress you out as hard work, loyalty and going above and beyond will just give you more work and feel undervalued. No room to progress.

The overall job itself is not terrible in terms of the work. The other technicians are good and will try to assist each other when required. Admin staff are always helpful when asking for assistance. 

When I first got interviewed I was excited and ready to contribute. Then after about a few months my feelings changed. 
This is by far one of the most unorganized and unprofessional places I have ever worked for. If not the worst.
There is no sense of direction or real company mission statement. If there is, I have no clue what it is. There is no organization, proper job description or titles. Nobody seems to know what the other is doing or what other people's jobs are. This results in nobody caring or wanting to do their jobs correctly. Always passing the buck on to someone else. Finding ways to to avoid certain duties in their job. 
Too many errors and mistakes from lack of care or know how. Problems like this are making ones job more stessful and busier than it should be. The many negatives have caused good people to leave the company and more to follow in the near future. 
Management does not seem to care though, you are just a means to an end. You are not valued for your work or efforts. Never knowing if you are performing well or receiving any praise for what you do. You are deemed replaceable. Your experience and great work are never appreciated.
The pay is not good and definitely does not compensate ones job. Too much work expected and responsibilities. There is no balance. Always stressed and never seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. 
I would definitely avoid working here. There's no incentive or future for anybody here. It's good if you just want to gain experience and then make a quick exit. That's the only reason to come here. Otherwise, don't waste your time. 



I have to say this is probably one of the worst places I have ever worked for. There is no organization. No clue as to what the identity of this company is. It was bad from the get go. 
There was little to no training. No SOP's. The place was a mess and still is. No way for a person to know what is expected of them on a daily basis either. No feedback to tell if you are on the right track. You are basically on your own. Well, except for the two hours of initial training. 
Pay is terrible. Probably one of the worst of my working career. I had the displeasure of learning that the norm of 1-2 percent is the usual wage increase. What a slap in the face for busting your butt through the year. Not even standard of living! Very shameful and greedy of this company.
Management hasn't got a clue as to what's going on. This causes a lot of stress to the employees because there is no order. It's the wild west here. Do what you want.  When you want.
Nobody knows what the other person is doing or what they are responsible for. Communication is terrible or non existant at times. Too many errors and not many care. 
You are not valued here either. You are a mule to do their bidding. No real appreciation or praise. Unless you consider pizza lunches tactically used to distract from the Trainwreck this place actually is. 
Avoid this place at all costs. Even if you need the money. It's not worth your mental health. This place will bring out the worst in you. I could go on but it's very tiring. 

Employees and supervisors gossip about each other, total toxic environment. 

Negotiate exceptional pay off the bat because raises after hire don’t even keep up with inflation, if you even get one. High performers are not rewarded with bonuses or better benefits but rather more work. Being mediocre and flying under the radar appears to yield the most individual benefits. 

Employees constantly talk about how bad the company is with no shame. 

Company functions are…well not heard of.

There are a few employees who are actually loyal and skilled workers who would be absolute star employees at other organizations. 

Even though it’s too late for me as I have already moved on, my overall assessment of this company sits at a firm 3 out of five stars. It’s not a bad place but there is definitely room to be exceptional.

The job isn’t hard, It’s quite enjoyable. 

The issue is that they don’t know how to train new employees and they send you out on the road expecting you to know everything. 

After a while, and with the help of fellow technicians, you’ll have everything figured out and feel like it could be a long term career.

 But then you’ll find out that the guys who’ve been here 30 years don’t make much more than you so there isn’t a future here.

They also don’t give raises, they give the opposite, they make new policies which always find a way to pay you less, all while claiming that you won’t be affected, and it’s actually helping you.

Lots of gaslighting from management and the admins, stay away from here if you have the option.




I came to Gunnebo from a previous locksmith company that was very rough around the edges to say the least. I was taught by several technicians as I had never worked on equipment used by banks or credit centers. The team is very knowledgeable and excellent teachers. They are very team oriented and everyone is willing to help each other. I wouldn't have left the company but due to Covid wreaking havoc around the globe, I was let go. If not for this my goal was to continue my career with Gunnebo.

Working as a Road Technician with Gunnebo for seven years gave me the chance to travel across five
provinces and two territories, rack up hundreds of thousands of kilometres, and build solid hands-on
experience.
Good place for locksmiths and electronic techs who like variety—every branch works a bit differently,
whether it’s covering huge regions or dealing with busy city work. No two days are the same.
It’s also not a place where you can “fake it until you make it.” If you say you can do something, you’re
expected to follow through. But if you’re willing to learn, there’s training and plenty of opportunities to
develop your skills.

In my job I order parts, enter technicians payroll, manage vacations, pay suppliers and utilites, basically perform all administrative tasks.

Management here is our Branch Manager.  He is friendly, open, understanding, compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable.  We are always welcome to express our ideas and opinions, and they are heard, appreciated, and actioned if necessary.

My co workers are great.  We all work together as a team to get the job done.

The hardest part of the job is just the little technical frustrations you run into.  Same in any job.

The most enjoyable part is dealing with clients and co workers.  It is a positive environment.

It was a great opportunity to work for them. I learned lots of informative things about the locksmith trade. a typical day at work would be going out and re-keying locks safety deposit box drills duplicating keys and other sorts of jobs.

The management is good overall but there is usually a shortage on stock in the stockroom if you need to do a job it can be a chore running around to get parts depending on what type of job you need to do. 

the co-workers are pretty good but i had problems wit ha co-worker that was verbally abusive and spread rumors about myself.

other then that it was a good place to work and to become more knowledgeable

Great company with competitive benefits and collaborative team. I'm really happy I joined them. Everyone is really helpful and interested in your opinion. They seem to be investing in their employees when everyone else is laying off and cutting back so that is really great to see. If you work hard and like a team atmosphere then this is the place to be.
