I've been in the company for almost 10 years and I have enjoyed every minute of it. It's definitely a company for those who want a challenge and to succeed. It's a busy company with lots of in town work and health benefits, plus there's always room to grow into a foreman position and have your own sites for those willing to push for success. The office and field staff have been great to work with, both the long term and the new guys/girls. It's a fast paced company and not for those looking for a place to just hide and ride out time until payday. If your motivated then this company is for you. The company is owned and operated by a tight knit family and I appreciate the fact that the big boss will make himself available if you have an issue that you cannot resolve within the fantastic HR department. It's a well organized company that always seems to be busy throughout the year with steady work.

Management is absolutely horrible. You live in fear of getting a call from one of the hot headed owners because they're having a bad day and take it out on you. I've been screamed at and degraded by the owners for issues that were no fault of my own. Don't you dare ever try to explain yourself, it only makes it worse. Owners were handed this business from their parents.
Disorganized would be a compliment to these guys. Late on prints, usually wrong anyway.
Guys in the field are very cliquey. Most are okay, some guys live to please the owners, its pathetic.
Forget about overtime, They classify all journeyman as "Supervisors" (and no extra pay for that) to avoid paying them overtime. Deadlines are insane and they wont let anyone, other than "Supervisors", work more than 44 hours a week.
Pay is average, benefits are good.
Better than no job, But I absolutely would not recommend this company to anyone.

Our management team, with the input of their office staff, is constantly trying to find ways to improve the company. We really strive for efficiency and accuracy so our office can be the best support team for our guys out in the field. 

We are always busy and never bored as there is always something new to learn. The core of our office team have been with the company for 5+ years and we have seen the highs and the lows but were able pull together as a team and create a great environment to work in.  I am proud of the people I work with everyday.

The Kelmar team has been with me through some tough personal times and were a great support team who allowed me to put my family first when needed.

This company is a great fit for me because I love to be challenged and to constantly be learning.

Overall I find the environment very friendly. There will be times that your under pressure to get the job done but that goes with every job. Office staff is friendly as long as you do your paperwork on time, if you don't you might get a few email from them. The paper work itself has gotten much easier to handle like timesheets and hazard assessments. Best part of Kelmar is the people you work with, they make the day go by fast and much more enjoyable.
The pay is nice, but Kelmar doesn't do overtime but they have banked hours. I personally prefer overtime rather than bank but when you go on vacation the bank hours are nice.

I really enjoyed my time here and planned on trying to make a career out of the opportunity and planned on sticking with the company for years. However, I was let go for "not fitting the company culture". I am still not sure what they meant by that. Aside from that I liked the management, and loved that they prided themselves on ensuring a decent work-life balance for their employees. They seemed to really care about you, your welfare, and wanted to take care of you. The only downside was the pay which, after taxes, was nowhere near enough for a single person to live on.

Saw a lot of good people either quit or get laid off in my time at Kelmar Ltd. Usually the ones who stayed were very disgruntled and were only hanging onto the job because of the close vicinity to their homes or out of long term loyalty to the company. 

The owners are very disorganised and are constantly changing employees job duties and titles. There is no real training or budgeting being done and this also leads to employees being very frustrated. 

I had also heard that asking for raises is basically not allowed and that the only pay increases that have happened are when the employee has threatened to leave.

Bad company with terrible office staff and owners. 
You will be hired to start at a job site, and laid off just weeks before the job is completed.
You will sign away your right to overtime pay at time and a half, all overtime will be paid at straight time.
You will be required to work 44 hour weeks, and saturdays and sundays are a must when needed if you want to stay employed.

Relations in the office are terrible, best to stay away from the drama and personal lives of people in the company.

Currently employed with Kelmar for the past 4 months and genuinely enjoy both the office staff and field staff. Have always felt comfortable while learning this position to ask questions and I have been helped by someone in each department willingly. It is a fast paced and always changing environment here, you need to be willing to learn and willing to adapt. 

They have been very supportive of me while experiencing some medical issues and accommodating with time off and helping me balance work life while still taking care of myself.
