Kins Farm Market

Well, as the header states, working in this company was not a pleasant experience at all! First of all is pay. For the amount of work you required to do, making $2000 net per month is a joke! You will be told however that there are bonuses, but working for this company for 7 months 3 of which I spent at one of the top 5 store, I haven’t seen a single penny from what they call a ‘BONUS’. If you are an AM be prepared to do every single task when one of your team members doesn’t show up (it happened every day during my last two months by the way). You will do stocking, loading, cashiering plus at the same time you will need to do you AM duties and get constant calls/email/whatsapp messages from your RM with different, sometimes very stupid requests such as: I don’t like that there is a box of different brand used among other boxes used to build an extension, please change it. Second, you will be expected to do overtime with no extra pay. If something happened to the closing staff and they  can’t show up, guess who will be the one staying there for 12 hours with no extra pay? Of course you can show up later next day, but that doesn’t make the amount of your OT hours to be multiplied by 1.5. Third, you cannot take 2 days off in a row. And finally, you will work 5 & 6. This is the most stupidest things ever making life/work balance almost impossible to achieve. Other things include no salary rise (AMs had been making the same numbers for years), constant war with HO over refunds for bad produce they send to you, unrealistic goals set by RM, constant issues with quality of products when receiving it, etc... With the most recent salary raise, you can easily find a place where you will do a single task making $15 an hour, at Kins you as an AM will make $15,35 before taxes, doing crapload of things, coming home exhausted every single day. As yourself, do you really need such job?

P.S. team at the STORE I worked with was amazing.

Kin's has a culture of putting sales above all else.  The job duties for the staff at stores is grueling and thankless.  They must work non-stop in all weather situations, in the rain, freezing cold, blistering heat, etc, all while making minimum wage.  Raises are hardly given out to sales associates, and when they are, it is miniscule.
Store managers are micro-managed and all decisions are questioned and overruled by the head office.  They are made to increase the size of displays of items against the advice of staff, then yelled at when there is significant spoilage due to the enlarged displays, then yelled at when their profits fall because discounts need to be given to try and sell through product before it goes bad.
Lastly, upper management/owners show virtually no gratitude to staff at any level.  They expect all employees to work till they drop, but give no praise nor appreciation.  Even when your hard work pays off, there are excuses made as to why you might not be responsible for said positive outcomes, all to deny you any accolades or bonuses.
The only positive thing I can say is many of the day-to-day workers are wonderful colleagues.

Basically every shift is the same thing over and over again. No chance of pay increase, they ask me to work more a lot of the time, and whenever you're done all your task, you're actually not, because they will find you something else to do. Extremely strict about break/clock-in clock-out time. Overall just a really boring and repetitive job, especially if you work during shipment day, when it's just constant lifting. The employee discount only applies to full-priced items, essentially putting them on par with prices from other stores. The food safety standards are a literal joke, produce that should be put on discount is left on the display, and the peppers are always being raided by mice. The mice dropping are then wiped off and the peppers that aren't half eaten are placed on display to sell. You don't even get a break unless you work 5 1/2+ hours, and that's only a 30 minute unpaid break, you'd need to work 7 1/2+ hours to get a 15 minute paid coffee break. Employees here are nice though.

I was hired and was assure it was an equal opportunity employer, however when the manger heard I had anything that might hurt her, "bonus store." I was then told I would only have 2 weeks to prove myself or I would be let go. 

Following this, a very minor mistake was made in the order of stocking, and I was told once again that if my perceived deficits got in the way, I would be let go, as I was hurting the team. This was on my 3rd shift, and up till this point I had received almost 0 training. 

I personally watched the manager talk to customers and staff rudely. Sometimes leaving customers with a shocked look on their faces. 

All in all, one of the worst managers I've ever had.

Even though I have only work at Kin's Farm Market for 8 months, but because I have a really good management providing splendid leadership and training, allowing me to work at my best capability alongside with splendid co-workers. The working environment of Farm market are usually untidy, but it is not the case for Kin's Farm Market. The working environment is clean, and neat providing an awesome mood to work with. All of these allowing me provide the best customer service and work attitude which allow me to honorably receive "Best Employee of the year" in the year of 2015. I hope I can have the chance to provide the same work attitude and service to my next employer.

I really appreciate Kins gave me this opportunity to let me step in this exciting and competitive retail business.
First thing in the morning: Set up the displays, attract enough for make people dropping by and bring the grocery home. I will make sure our pricing and quality of course stay competitive compare with my neighbor (Walmart and Superstore). Price check is must so that I know how to set up the display to attract my customers and achieve my stores sales target and margin.
I love my team and enjoy working with them together.

When the first day as a cashier in Kin's farm market, the employee are very nice to help me and give me more chance to practice. I'm pleasure to this. From their nice guiding, I learned everything to follow up company standards with very importance. As a cashier I need calculate very well without careless, at the same time I learned how to calculate quickly and correctly. During this workplace, I felt the hardest part of the job is load heavy stuff from the truck, but now I can handle with it. The most enjoyable part of the job is co-workers help each other very well. I love them much better than other things.

I would not recommend anyone to work here, unless you are desperately looking for the job. Poor management and probably the highest turnover I have ever seen. Almost nobody knows what they are doing.

You are going to be working long days as all the responsibility is on you. If your employees call in sick, you have to cover for them. You are basically not allowed to be sick. Management requires you to do the job that definitely is useless when you could spend your time actually helping the store. Basically everyday is a huge headache!!!

At Kin's Farm there is not a lot of skill involved to be a stocks person. If you have eyes and are mobile you can do this job. Being a stocks person requires a meticulous eye when it comes to checking for quality control. Basic knowledge of how to pick ripe produce also becomes commonplace especially when customers ask you what to look for. Job is very labor intensive. I would recommend this job in the summer. In the winter the back doors are left open and only the cashiers get a heater.

my location was horrible, located right beside a seniors home, so only older folk would come in and do their shopping in change. Everyone in that mall was absolutely miserable, the management on the other hand was really relaxed and respected employees opinions most of the time, but other times they would treat new employees very poorly, but I learnt to have a voice, and took it upon myself to use that opportunity to realize how I should treat poeple/ respect people
