Great place to work,got along well with management and fellow workers.Pretty well left alone to do our jobs in a safe and efficient manner.
Have become a better driver and learned a lot more of mto regulations and safety on the roads.
Sometimes the weather was brutal,but put all my knowledge in play and made it thru safely.The most enjoyable part of my job was traveling to new destinations and taking in the scenery and cultures of the people.

I learned many new things about the transportation industry working here.  I helped create the department with my supervisor; which included creating a training manual for new hires, as well as bridging the gap between different terminals and management.  My manager was not as hands on as she could have been.  We had a co-worker who used company time to make personal calls, used foul language constantly and was a bully in the work place.

Good company overall, only thing you need to worry is the hours they ask, starting shift from 3am to 11am but never ending later than 9pm.
management is a bit messed up. repartition can give you a headhache because of the traffic leading you from one side to another of the island meeting in the middle with another truck that is empty going the way you came.

good point is they got automatic shifter so no use of clutches in traffic, good advancement, insurance, co-worker are fine

Awesome company that tried to "do things right" and could not compete. They had a superior safety program and a superior safety management team, and the same for their Operations team. I think it became untenable for them to maintain a respectable wage for their drivers and make a profit too. They gracefully ended 97 years of doing business and went out of business.

Meyers Transport was a well established trucking company in it's 90th year.  My position as Manager of Line Haul for Ontario and Quebec as well as Terminal Manager for the Belleville Hub proved for some interesting, demanding days.  Although some were hectic, overall I had a good team of dispatchers and drivers/dockmen which overshadowed the heavy demands.

Union completely corrupt - bought off by management. Managers were some of the most ignorant people I have ever seen, They would have been fired working at McDonalds or anywhere else for that matter. Really - just a sad joke - all from the so called CEO to the dispatchers- was truly a nightmare trying to work there.

Always got paid. Pay cheque never bounced. Always had to fix management errors. No support. Micro managed. Very poor management selection. If you did good, supervisor took the credit. If you made an error, you were dumped on. Not a pleasant place to work.  

Watched like a hawk!! Very stressful for just "a data entry job** People put on short ropes with high stress. Overall employess are fun...but over worked with very low pay!!

Meyers will always hold a near and dear place in my heart. It is a shame that we are closing our doors. The company has always been top heavy and unfortunately after the loss of a few large accounts, we could not stay afloat,

Great place to work. For the most part, the people were good to work with in all terminals. I had great interaction with drivers and staff at all locations. Executive was difficult to deal with near the end.
