The food industry is a tough place to work but i keep coming back to it for the people ... not the customers, the coworkers. If you like working on a team of hardworking people who will treat you like family on and off the job, One Fine Food is a great place to work. i'm in the restaurant but everyone is friendly building-wide. The market, butcher shop, bakery, cafe, restaurant, and production kitchen are always checking in, helping each other out, gossiping about this and that, there's never a dull moment. The work gets challenging, everyone has frustrating days, but i have had a great experience with getting days off as i need them, having my hard work and skills be recognized with a promotion, and feeling well fed with a daily staff meal, a bonus received by kitchen staff. The food we make is almost entirely from scratch and our meat is broken down from half pigs and quarter cows in store, whole lamb too. We have great cooks, bakers, butchers, baristas, and managers who are available to share their skills at request. This is the ideal job for someone with a general interest in the food industry. i love working here. Restaurants are always a racket but this place is fun.

Our work environment is productive, with clear communication and efficient systems in place that help us serve our customers quickly and effectively. There’s a strong sense of teamwork and mutual respect, which makes every shift enjoyable. Additionally, the restaurant places a high value on quality and customer satisfaction, which is reflected in the positive feedback we regularly receive. Overall, One Fine Food is not just a great place to work, but also a place where you can grow and develop your skills. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a rewarding job in the hospitality industry.

Parts of working for one used to be great when they first opened. The food was great, everything was made in house and customers were actually happy, but, In the past year while working at One, 4 people were fired without cause....in the past 2 months people have quit because management doesn’t care about its employees and let’s new management walk all over everyone. There’s a power struggle and new management has this sort of “God Complex” and that they are “the best in the industry”. I can only imagine every employee now walks into this place wondering “will today be the day?” If you don’t absolutely bow down to management they will make your life horrible, I hope no one applies here, worst mistake you’ll ever make

The workers there are pretty easy to get along with, and it's pretty much guaranteed that you'll make friends, although it can sometimes feel clique-y due to the separate departments. Management was good, although you can tell that a lot of things aren't done simply due to the easiness of not doing them.

If you're looking for high-paying with good benefits, don't bother applying. Almost everyone there gets minimum wage, and only a few people that I knew had received raises in their time of working there. Benefits include coffee and tea while you work, and you get to take expired food home. We were allowed a free drink from the bar and a free lunch per day, but they changed that just recently.

I was taken on for my first job by this company and on my second day of training I was completely thrown into the job all by myself, being brought on I was told it’s an all hands on deck environment, what they really meant was were super understaffed and your gonna do a bunch of jobs that arnt yours. I was “let go” with no explanation but I assume it was because I gave them my college schedule and they realized they couldn’t make me work the full time hours they wanted while still calling it part time.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I worked hard, do my best, was never late, got written up because of gossip. No feedback on how to improve from management. got fired for no reason. yeah only perk is free meals if you work in the kitchen. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
constantly busy and the chef is not there on the busy nights and hardly online. they want zero ideas to improve the food. Just be a worker drone.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The staff are great, most people are really cool. Very busy, and most people working just want a check and to go home.

When this place first opened it was wonderful with a great family-like atmosphere for the staff. Fast forward and what once drew me to this company was completely removed. New management is best described as misogynistic and uncaring when it comes to staff members. If you want to work with a boss that constantly makes passive-aggressive remarks yet refuses to address them when brought to their attention then this is the place. To bad though because this place was fantastic but unfortunately is a terrible company to work for anymore.

Place is super relaxed to the point where it become stressful. Scheduling issues such as coming out late or not being sent out at all, absolutely no communication between managers/staff, long shifts, unprofessionalism from managers. They do not care about their employees. 

Never had reliable schedules, only released them when it was convenient for the managers schedule. No understanding/care of staff schedules outside of work (often got scheduled on days needed off, even when given plenty of notice). Awful at performing legal requirements. Had to wait and extended period of time for ROE, only responded when legal action was threatened. Do NOT recommend for someone who requires steady employment.

Changes in management have led to a toxic work environment. Poor communication if any. The Head chef refers to female co workers as 'baby girl' and 'sweetheart' making it extremely uncomfortable. The culture at One Fine Food used to be a positive one with a real sense of community based around a common love for quality food and products. With the "new direction" they have chosen to go in its such a shame to see the food quality and integrity taking such a hit.
