no table tennis, no games room, management sneaky....constantly swearing and yelling....no structure....no lee way. Tell u one thing then change the next day and u are not aware. Part time people are not kept up on the on going changes, for example: if u work 2 days a week.,..u need to be up to speed on the last 5 days....so much to learn ......9 different mgrs...all negative...etc etc etc ..too much drama for the amount of staff....
tell management about changes but nothing is done about it...take advantage of work of hours...No positive comebacks from management...I could go on and on. Even the OPP cannot stand the Pinestone. Always had comments when they came in and then if something happen it took them so long to respond because it was "The Pinestone" Needless I say more

This used to be a great place to work, each day was organized and efficient. I learned a lot about hotel/resort work. There is always something to do. My manager was awesome but the rest of the management didn't seem to care to much about the department i worked in, which made it a little difficult to want to work there some days. I love to work independently and i love to clean, so that would probably be my enjoyable part of my job...or just working with my co-workers because they are amazing.

My day at Pinestone would not start until 3pm every single day, I would have to arrive 15 minutes early each shift. The first couple hours would go by fast but then later on into the evening it would slow down. Considering I am working by myself at the front desk with nobody near me, only the maintenance guy or housekeeping when they would stop by. The best part of the job is when we'd get big events happening (ex. hockey tournaments, wedding parties, business trips, New Years Eve parties, etc.) the front desk would be filled with so many people, time would just fly by,

A typical day for me at the Pinestone started early, 5:00am to be exact. Served breakfast and lunch. would take a break for an hour or so, and then right back at it again. Only this time I was in the Bar for the evening,serving drinks and food.
I learned how juggle hours in a day..
Management was in some sort of transition, really have no good remarks about that.
Hardest part of my job, was keeping up with my schedule. too many hours
I like the interaction with the public

A day in the life at Pinestone. Fast passed environment. Think on your feet to resolve problems and take care of guests needs. Front Desk is responsible for answering phones, in house guests and a number of other duties which makes the shift fly by. 

Flexible hours. Management listens to the needs of employees so achieving a work/life balance is possible. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The Golf Course is in great condition

No employees and to many repairs not completed

Staff is friendly but poor Ownership

12 plus hours a day working and doing jobs not in your Contract

Wasn't sure about working there because of the history but was quite surprised. The management team at the resort team is a good group, works together well and creates a fun atmosphere. You can tell they really care but the place needs a lot of work. Sadly most have them have left. The owners of the resort on the other hand don't seem to care about the place or the staff which is pretty obvious. 

I got hired for a supervising position is housekeeping, was promised the raise and full time hours. My boss felt threatened because rumour was they wanted her to retire and me to be trained in her position. Needless to say she cut all my hours and refused to talk to me about it. Highly unprofessional and cause a lot of distress seeing as I moved to Haliburton FOR this position.

The staff are professional, hard working and friendly.

Not getting paid on time. Mistakes on paycheck. Occasional layoffs with no notice.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful.  Periods of boredom interrupted by panic.
