What is the best part of working at the company?
Open with helping my students. Past coordinator was very open with ideas to improve.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When I was told by the HR people that a native has to be treated and teached a different way. This was not satisfactory I implement program and everyone is equal in my veiw

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Its satisfactory but there comments and outline to have fairness across the board

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
They have different standards for each

I taught there years ago. Staff very professional. Students very easy to get along with. They were well organized to deliver the programs we taught at the time. Students often stayed late in evening for extra help from me because the material was difficult for them. No extra pay for late work. So students need to be well prepared to take advanced classes if staff don't get paid for extra tutoring.

Working at SIIT is a rewarding career where you can help persons from Indigenous communities join the workforce and learn life and employment skills, as well as forge strong connections with fellow professionals. This accredited school is still growing and learning lessons along the way, but there is real sincerity among the people working here and a chance to have a deep look into the values of other cultures. Highly recommend.

Overall SIIT is a great place to work at.  Staff are encouraged and supported to achieve both their personal and professional goals - through workshops, professional development and paid leave if one needs to further their education and or stay current in their area of expertise.

I liked my last job as i got along well with my co-workers and the work was challeging, fast paced and I was given a lot of responsibility to do a good job

Over all had a great time teaching what I knew. I also liked traveling to different areas to work. Lots of nice scenery and lovely lakes as well.  Their  all very nice people in each region. The students were all ready to learn and stand out from the community.  Its a great experience, and fun times.

I've learnt the basic to carpentry and construction. It was also a great working environment and experience. The co workers and instructors were all very kind and it made it much easier to work.

I have worked at SIIT for 10+ years and would recommend this company to work for because they listen to their employees and generally have good management. 

Group work is the best for this job skills program Coaching and supports by supervising staff was great and essential. People & co workers were awesome in these area.

The work environment was great and collaborative within each department. The day to day work environment was like your typical office job. Other than that, the downfall of the workplace is you do not feel like you have great job security
