Typical day at work - loaf around until the foreman figures out what is to be done

Assign 2 or more people to a one man task

Partner you with the biggest jerk on site who then bosses you around like he's your dad

No word of a lie we went to walk down a job they wanted done at least ten times because they weren't ready for us to actually do the job yet

The foreman will yell at you for vaping, while he himself is blowing a vape cloud on you

Youll get a layoff real quick if you don't fit the clique

If you fit the clique you are set for life pretty much.  Qualifiers include being the greasiest backstabber possible

Not accommodating, they will get rid of you for making errors - not at the time, but you’ll be weeded out

Toxic. Hierarchical inefficiencies. Unwillingness to address long standing problematic employees.

Lacking on direction, project outlook

I enjoyed working for South East Construction however when they hired a female Safety Manager who felt that she had to lie and get top management to see things her way.She wanted to control everybody. She is a liar and a condescending person who feels threatened by other females in Safety positions. It is too bad that I had to quit my position with the company, but I felt that no matter what I did she would find someway to undermine me and my work performance.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Variety of workers from different backgrounds and skill levels.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The safety coordination was unstable.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I had a great experience with management.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Morning meeting, stretch, meeting with your crew. Pretty typical.

Work was good . Good crew and management easy to work with. Willing to put you on different pieces of equipment and give you a chance and experience. They were willing to train you and there was good safety protocol. Regular meetings to keep the crew in the loop. Kept up with maintenance on gear so overall was a good experience.

Worked on contract. Was treated fairly and with respect. Management had respect for the trades opinions and recommendations. Did not feel dismissed. No complaints

no longterm job protection, Jansen site employs tradesman who cannot get a job anywhere else due to being lazy and unskilled.Site is an embarrassment to all Unions ,if you are lazy and are the bottom of the barrel tradesman this place is for you...

Construction site potash mining very high safety culture, good group of core people. Work condition at least at the sites I’ve been on are for the most part indoors in the winter. 

Everyone here is good to work with.  Management is willing to listen at anytime.  You may not get the answer you want all of the time, or action may not happen but they will listen.
