In my professional opinion, Safety Boss Inc. presents a profoundly suboptimal employment experience, particularly for field workers engaged during seasonal turnaround periods. Despite outward appearances of professionalism and corporate empathy, the internal culture suggests a transactional and exploitative approach to labor relations.

The organization habitually recruits a high volume of workers under the guise of temporary or project-based employment, only to offer short-term contracts with little to no job security. Compensation, while seemingly competitive at approximately $275 per day, is arguably inadequate considering the physically taxing nature of 12-hour shifts and the minimal regard shown for employee well-being.

During onboarding, employees undergo a brief, one-week training program—ostensibly to ensure compliance and readiness—only to be dismissed or left in professional limbo shortly thereafter, with no communication or follow-up. This lack of operational transparency and continuity raises serious concerns about the company’s reliability and ethical standards.

Despite their performative display of care and corporate responsibility, the reality reflects a culture that devalues frontline personnel and treats workers as expendable assets. I would caution prospective employees to approach opportunities at Safety Boss with measured skepticism and to prioritize employers with a demonstrable commitment to workforce stability and respect.

I worked for this company for years, it was my first ever oilfield experience and in the beginning it was great but that very quickly turned sour. Management is absolutely clueless and impossible to get a hold of, Dispatch could care less about what you have going on and if you tell them no even once you are sent to the bottom of their call list. Their equipment is tired and old but they refuse to invest in new ones. The office staff is like something out of Mean Girls, I wouldn't be surprised if they had a book of dirt on all their employees that they talk smack about and I've personally heard this happen. They'll try to fudge your hours and cheques, it happens a lot.

The only saving grace of this company is they offer a day-rate (not the greatest amount) and you'll get sent out to jobs where the drive is longer than your time on site.

One last thing, I really hope you like to incessantly talk about fires that happened 30 years ago because they STILL build their entire ego as a company off of it. We get it, you guys used to rock, you should try to live up to that reputation rather than disappoint it at every turn.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Safety Boss is a great Company due to the Management sense of responsibility,  Team Work and Mentoring process that allows the Nonexperience employees become professionals in few days. The only problem is that employees go for the first turn and when they go off, have to wait for the next season. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When you know that you are in the week of employees cut off and you will no longer coming to the field until possibly the next season.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great work environment although some colleagues make jokes in the week of the cut off to ensure their permanence.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Have acceptance from colleagues and the Supervisor. Although, the Supervisors are always in the field to supervise and make sure that the work is being done as required according to the recommendations of the Safety Boss.

I have had no issues with Safety Boss, and deem them one of the best companies to work for in the Oil and Gas Industry.

I learned a great deal going out in the field for months at a time.  If there were questions or concerns, I had no issue calling the district office to find and/or ask my questions.

The hardest part was never being at home.  I was sent out continually.

The most enjoyable part of the job, is the appreciation for my ability to process proper paper work for the company, had an audit on my paper work and aced it.  The Auditor said he had never seen such neat paper work in the field like mine before.  So he took pictures of all the forms that I had processed and gave me a AAA score.

This company is very good at pretending you are a valued member of the team as long as you are well liked. If you speak up and point out anything that can be done better you are immediately let go or never sent out on another project. They pay is ridiculously low compared to the industry and they include your vacation pay in the salary quote so it looks like you are paid more than what you actually receive. Countless errors are made by the payroll department leading to hours being shorted and no overtime paid. Dispatch plays favorites and only sends out staff they like and ignore everyone else. 

Living off a legacy from the Kuwait fires still, probably the least ethical company I've ever worked for. Dropped their pants on pricing when oil went south and almost ruined the company. 

They claim to "not want to be the biggest, just the best", but I saw no indication of either. Station Managers recycled from other companies where they couldn't hack it, tired equipment and a holier than thou attitude that stems from their out of touch owner and management. 

Steer clear, there is no future with this company.

If you're after a steady gig, this might not be your go-to. The pay's awesome, but work isn't always guaranteed. If you've been with them for ages – we're talking years – there's more work heading your way. But if you're new, I'd say don't rely on it as your main income. If you've got another job to fall back on when they hit a quiet patch, this could be a pretty sweet deal for you. Having a buddy-buddy dynamic with the higher-ups is definitely a plus to factor in. Just remember, it's not the most stable gig out there, but the pay's good when the work's flowing.

For a company who is safety driven l, they do not show this concern towards their staff. The harder you work, the more work you get put on you; without appreciation or compensation. They run all field and office staff to the bone, and their only concern is getting a dollar. They will push staff to work beyond their means and not even a thank you. On top of that, each department lacks communication amongst each other, so everything is lost in translation and there is always some sort of error in the system. It’s not worth the effort or stress or “ok” pay. 

I learned how to create invoices from information input at another location and what to look for to ensure correctness.  My co-workers were an eclectic, interesting bunch with a lot of knowledge.  The hardest part of the job was having industry requirements to follow to ensure the safety of workers in the field, and knowing what was absolutely required.  The most enjoyable part of the job was going into the 100 year old building and see all the owners antiques.

Free training, great fellow employees, and I get to see a lot going to locations for work. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Some jobs are 12 hour shifts everyday until job is done, after 14 days it’s a bit tiring. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great variety of people but we all have fun

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Travel to work, do the job, travel back.
