Working at Scarborough Convention Centre proved to be a learning curve for me with an opportunity to work with different cultures and business circles. Since I have a passion for event coordination, I personally enjoyed my position at the Convention Centre. However, due to lack of professionalism and work ethics by senior management, the atmosphere would get pretty challenging. Working at the convention centre allowed me to view business transactions from two different perspectives. It also enabled me to be trained with my conflict resolving skills and go the extra mile to negotiate deals between both parties concerned.

I had the pleasure of working as a server at the Scarborough Convention Centre and I couldn't be more pleased! The inclusive environment fosters collaboration and creativity, and the management team is incredibly supportive. The work/life balance is great, giving me enough time to enjoy my life outside of work. The culture at the Centre is amazing, with lots of opportunities to work with people from all different backgrounds. I had the chance to develop my customer service skills as well, which helped me to become more confident in my abilities. All in all, it was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a great workplace!

I enjoyed my time working at SCC because of the inclusive work culture, great teamwork, learning opportunities and fun ambience.

As a server, you might think serving is all you do which is not the case. You must also clean, and move tables and such around. This overtime does take a toll on your body. Not only that but you are required to work long hours and the pay is not the best.

You are able to communicate to any type of people that attend their parties. Adapt good customer service skills along with communication. Learning to work under pressure and may have to work late if the party is ending late. If so, you would have to make the customers (guests) have access to the need they may need after your work is done.

I was working as the waitress. I deal with guests all the time and attend to their needs. I learnt time management skills at this job because you have to finish everything on time with the other co workers. There was nothing hard about my job and i enjoyed it immensely.

Very busy job. You have to keep moving to keep up with the orders of what's going on. Okay temporary job. It's not bad when you're working with friendly people because you can do tasks together but don't hope that you will always get paired together. Long hours and you must be flexible if you want this job.

-Assisted the manager with their needs, which included scheduling and planning
-Served as a receptionist for the department
-Assisted in organizing weddings, birthday parties, fundraisers which included communicating with catering, lighting and sound companies and ensuring everything was set up on time

I work here since 2022 of March as server, it has a good balance for student since work is mainly on the weekend and sometimes weekdays. Good international group of colleagues, no problem with dinner and breakfast. Very positive environment

It is always fun working at SCC. For me, its my stress buster....you have good food, music, and you are also getting a chance to meet and greet new people everyday...
PS: This place is definitely not for lazy sloths
