Full job description

The Good Son at 1096 Queen Street West is looking for a PART TIME Bartender/Server to assist our FOH team in their day to day responsibilities. The ideal candidate would have a strong working knowledge of mixology/hospitality basics, with a desire to excel. The ideal candidate is someone that is a team player who wants to be part of an environment where they are able to utilize their hospitality experience and growing their desire to continually be hospitable and provide excellent dining experiences.

We are looking for a part time Bartender to work as a bartender and server 5 days a week.

on Fridays and Saturdays we close at 12:30AM, every other day we close at 10PM

The Good Son is a Cross-cultural mash-up of cuisines from served in a cozy room with bric-a-brac design. Our menu is a reflection of the melting pot of cultures that has gentrified Toronto. With a focus on local and seasonal organic produce, hormone free and free range proteins, the menu has been designed for guests to share plates, in an effort to create a convivial and social dining experience. The heart of our kitchen bolsters a wood-fired oven & wood-fired grill that has been imported all the way from Mam Forni, Italy. Wood-fire capabilities are critical for our menu as the flavor imparted on the food is exceptional and unique. We are looking for new team members who exemplify the principles we believe in. Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional hospitality and customer service in a fast-paced food service environment. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring an enjoyable dining experience. On slower nights you may have tables in your section in addition to the wood.

Duties

Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Present menus and provide detailed information about menu items, including daily specials.
Take accurate food and drink orders using the POS system.
Serve food and beverages promptly while ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience and address any concerns or requests promptly.
Process payments accurately through cashiering duties.
Maintain cleanliness of tables, service areas, and overall restaurant environment.
Adhere to all food safety and handling regulations to ensure guest safety.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and special requests.

Skills

3-5 years of Bartending & Serving experience
Strong hospitality skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
Previous experience in the food industry is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
Familiarity with food service operations
Proficiency in using Silverware and Open table would be an asset
Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
