I want to start by saying the job was very interesting and I enjoyed working with the staff in my region. However that is about it.
The job is basically kn call 24/7 or you run the risk of not getting any calls.
 I was told they would never consider salary, was promised benefits but they never gave them to me after almost a year and a half.
Even being 24/7, I barely made enough to cover monthly costs to live. 
Company owner says staff are replaceable and from experience, I see he does that.
Vehicles are constantly needing to go into shop for repairs leaving the region without necessities for the job. Equipment like the stretchers BREAK and instead of sending replacements, sent out a YouTube video to the staff of how to load stretchers into vans(?) Which was not helpful. 
They nitpick everything you do and have GPS on the vans, even get mad if you aren't Google mapping the "Fastest route". 
When I had questions regarding my hours on timesheets they said "none of our other employees nickel and dime us"...
They didn't want me to purchase PPE and they would supply it for me, however the gloves ripped very easily so my staff would have to double or triple layer just to be safe.
When we needed full "tyvek" suits (on coroner's request) we didn't have any and the management told me to try looking at the dollar store for a painters suit. 
This company is beyond unprofessional. They lack care and compassion not only for their staff but also the decedents they have in their care during transport.
Not even a change of name  to "Serenity" will fix this horrendous company. 

A typical day at work is sitting around waiting for a call with no standby wage while being on-call 24/7. If you were unavailable for any reason 24/7/365 management would be very displeased. The wage for the work is unfitting as the job is very difficult physically as well as mentally. Combined with a work culture/management model which frowns upon decompression time the job will take a toll on whomever takes it. Equipment is often barebones and vehicles are borderline inoperable. 

Understand that you will be attending sudden deaths of all sorts from nursing homes to terrible car accidents. You will only be paid while dealing with these situations, so it's not unlikely you will only obtain $45 for dealing with a fatal car crash, suicide, or a 2 week old home death. 

If this is your sole income, it will be impossible to live off of. There were many weeks where a paycheck would be $200-$400 and this would with full 24/7 availability. You may also be tempted with benefits however the likelihood of hitting the minimum hours to obtain benefits is near to none. 

If you are truly passionate about working in this field, seek careers within funeral homes as you will receive a better wage, an on-call wage, and work for an employer that has respect for the industry.  

This job has been amazing so far! Coming in, I was very nervous, but once getting into it, I found this job really rewarding and have loved every minute of it!  
Management is honest and very kind, and helps to ensure training is up to date and any issue are heard and resolved. having and Issue at  2 am? you call and they answer, no if/ands or buts! 
No one lies to you, they are honest and up front when applying, that work can be few and far between at times, but they make sure to work with you on scheduling in case you do anything else (additional work, hobbies, family) on top of this. The other employees have been fantastic, very fun and welcoming. Pay is good and I recommend this job to any of my friends looking. 

This job was such an incredible experience! The flexibility was astounding, I have young children and was able to be on call while they were at school, and home with them in the evening, and it was easy to arrange appointments or trips out of town for the weekend. The management has improved dramatically in the last few months! She is incredibly supportive and was always available to talk and go for coffee if I needed to vent or talk through something. The owner is hilarious and very nice, too! The job and experience is so different from anything I’ve ever done before. I loved my time there, and would recommend to anyone interested in the death industry. 

DO NOT WORK HERE. The owner does not care about you. Or how you feel. There is no stand by pay. In spite of them demanding you be anywhere in the valley within 30 mins. You’re expected to drop everything regardless of its importance. Without even the slightest financial compensation or appreciation. Due to the sensitivity of the work. You will encounter some potentially traumatic situations. And if you express even the slightest of emotion that isn’t callous stoicism, you will be mocked openly. Not to mention they will ignore you when you’ve been at very least a hard working employee and ask for a job reference. DO NOT WORK HERE. ITS SIMPLY NOT WORTH IT. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE. 

Very poorly managed for every division. Managers have no idea what they are doing, broken vehicles and equipment that the workers have to deal with. If you have any issues they will not help you. The manual they get you to sign says they have benefits but in reality they do not have any. They will make you work year around with no days off and promise you everything you want in a job then rip it away as soon as you do what they want. The do not care about employees safety or wellbeing. If you get hurt you are told to suck it up and keep working. They will say whatever you want to hear just to benefit themselves and if they do wrong you will be blamed for it, they take no responsibility for their actions. 

You will see death in all manners so if that is not for you don't bother
I loved the job and the fulfillment I felt doing it. There is an amazing amount of things to learn about death, bodies and the world of funerals. Non of Wich you learn from the company or management but the people you interact with on the job. Police, doctors, family's, coroner's ect...
The management lies about wages and hours. 
Definitely not a living wage
The insensitive makes more sense to do no work rather than the hours they give you. 
Management is disorganized and not involved enough. 
It should be a community but every person is on their own with trAining, supplies, and mental health. 

This job will have you spending your own money without much of a reimbursement. The equipment looks like they got it from an abandoned hospital because of how little they take car or replace broken equipment. The vehicles WILL break down on you and you will have to pay for repairs and get almost all your money back if you are lucky. I watched employees get hurt and heard them being called names and not once did they care about the well being of the employees. You will never be allowed days off, they expect you to never do anything other than work, so if you have hobbies...better kiss those goodbye.

What is the best part of working at the company?
A lot of the job is driving and only part of it is the actual removal.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
being on call but you get used to it pretty fast 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Welcoming and safe they would never make you do anything that makes you uncomfortable.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
1-4 calls a week typically but it can be more or less busy

I am so grateful for my time working with Seldom Silent…the position as a body removal attendant is by far the most meaningful job I have ever had. Our work is significant and impactful in many ways especially for the individual who has died and their loved ones. There is a healthy balance of high expectations and high support within the company as this line of work is sensitive in nature, however the staff at Seldom Silent provide all resources possible to ensure team members are successful.
