Sherwood Park Alliance Church

This position involved working with a church body of over 2000 and a school body of over 1000 students. My leadership oversight included:
• Vision Casting. Development of 5 year strategic plan, paralleling church-wide vision
• Leadership recruitment, retention, training and coaching
• Volunteer leadership, recruitment and coaching
• Yearly budget planning for ministries and church
• Public speaking (teaching and preaching) to small and large bodies of people (up to 2000)
• Special guest speaker for Elk Island School Board and Strathcona County Chamber of Commerce on numerous occasions
• Leadership liaison for Strathcona Christian Academy Elementary & Secondary (Ministries of Sherwood Park Alliance Church)
• Leadership in planning and design for 3 distinct worship experiences: Emerging Generation, Contemporary and Traditional services.
• Developmental leadership in social media and technology such as website design and media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Vimeo.
• Oversight and leadership of Missions trips (budget inclusive)
• Overseas missions trip planning and execution

Typical days were great. Stay in your lane and don’t ask questions and you’ll be okay.  Location of the office is phenomenal. Office hours are great. 

Sherwood Park Alliance Church is very well managed and treats their staff exceptionally well. Their willingness to serve is clear, and their positive attitudes are vibrant. Definitely recommend!

It was fun to work volunteer and work with children to create an educational environment for them.  It set up a routine, and there was always something to do.

Very strong learning environment with high priority placed on peer appreciation and fantastic work environment at all times. The love of Christ resonates from each and every staff member. I am proud to have been a part of this team.

An early morning person, willing to learn in every task that is given to me.  I love to work in an harmonious and systematic pace. I enjoy working  with happy people, productive in such a way and happy surrounding.

It was a great place to grow and learn.  The staff was wonderful, and lots of care.  I liked working independently, I felt valued.

I was let go for apparently as my supervisor called it "unacceptable progress" whatever that means. Toxic work culture and inept leadership, stay away as far as you can.

I rather not work at a church.   
There is a lot of stress in a church environment.
There is a lot pretence and not enough authenticity.
Working in a church is often personal.
