Management doesn't care about employees. Its short staff and they make you do all the work anyway. So much favoritism for people they like. They punish people they don't like or anyone with a different point of view. Everyone is afraid to be fired. The morale at West 5th is so low. They talk about how great to work at the hospital and do all this stuff to make employees happy but nobody makes sure the employees are being treated right. Who cares about that when they treat you bad. They talk to people really mean. You never feel supported. If you do anything wrong they would rather get you in big trouble then be nice and saying don't do this ok. 

They let managers do what they want and nobody cares. Even if some managers aren't as bad they all stick together and nobody helps. The nice managers are probably scared to. 

The good thing is the frontline staff are really nice and look out for each other. The doctors are really good people. But if you stand up for anybody your punished. 

Maybe the new president will notice what's happening to the staff. If not this place will probably just keep getting worst.

The pay isn't great anymore. Its because they cant give us raises so its not there fault. So they should hire enough people to do work and everyone doesn't have to be overworked.

Very positive workplace. 
 •	I am the day to day point of contact for coordination of all construction related activities involving outside vendors such as Plenary, PCL, Honeywell, architects, IO and MOH
•	Receive, log, distribute, follow up and file all project related construction documentation/drawings
•	Work with Ebuilder, prepare weekly payroll
•	Assist team members in documentation of responses and any correspondence between hospital and contractors
•	Purchasing and manage day to day activities of the project office
•	Analytical and planning skills with a proven track record for prioritizing and strategic planning.
•	Prepare meetings, take and distribute minutes
•	Provide day to day support to the entire Redevelopment team; arrange meetings/presentations when required
•	Responsible for preparation, issuance and follow up with team for project related documents such as Design Revision Requests, DRR's, NDRR's, Variations, Transmittals, Advice Notices, RFI's, and all project related documentation
•	Act as project librarian, maintaining database of all submissions, plans, and construction progress photos, plot construction drawings upon request
•	Assist with the coordination and processing of incoming invoices
•	Assist with coordination of all construction site visits and safety training


The management is reactionary to situations, doesn't seem to have a cohesive plan to current work demands and stress for staff.  Expects unequal contribution from staff, for those that can handle more they are always expected to do so and those that can't there is no expectation of improvement.  It is creating a system that is crumbling under the current strain of an increased workload with a reduced and less experienced staff. The rate for staff burnout is growing and I see no implementation of a plan to change this. 

2 different pay scales for pharmacists, one significantly higher than the other, creates an awkward divide
lack of vision for patient care role of a pharmacist
many caring employees who are not empowered to use their technical and professional knowledge
difficulty with current professional standards of practice
inefficient use of on call pharmacists, resulting in frequent call backs
great opportunity to work with allied health, residents, physicians and nurse practitioners
challenging acuity of patients
negative reports of department by several external organizations

I enjoyed many years in my career until new management changed things up for the worse in a program that was running like a well oiled machine. I was one of almost an entire program of individuals who were weeded out. And in true hospital fashion, only 4 months after being let go, jobs are being posted for a position I was and am more than qualified for. They will pay people out on severance and then hire newbies - great use of our healthcare system dollars. 
I did appreciate many good years there though. I loved the salary and benefits and my team was great!

I loved my job at St.Josephs for the contact with patient care. The down side of this job after 4 years of working 12 hr shift along side staff that clearly weren't happy within there own job made the atmosphere on the floor a negative one.  One can only have so much negativity around them for so long.  I left on my own will to work more independently in a community setting doing the nursing part of my job great free from the negative faces and remarks around me.

Management in Nursing from top to bottom evidences very little caring for staff in the way they speak to them, deal with them, and handle them. Brought many new nurses on board as part time with promise of ''full time hours" that neer materialized. Nurse Managers want to only discuss positive things, never the hurdles or issues needing to be fixed. Lots of old-timers around who resent outsiders with experience. Lots of backstabbing tolerated.

Working with others as a team, to help clients become well or be on the road to recovery.

Lack of administrative support when working short staffed.

Positive support by co-workers and the gratitude of the clients.
