The overtime requirement for CPA candidates and senior team is significantly less than any other CPA firm around. The hourly wage received (salary/total hours worked) is comparable or better than other CPA firms in town. With an inhouse training, coaching and mentoring program, and a variety of tax, assurance, personal, advisory, and other work, CPA candidates receive a well rounded and diverse experience. 

Senior team members are provided the opportunity to focus on the area of expertise they are passionate about and receive consistent support and professional development to help achieve their career goals. 

Administrative and operational staff are provided meaningful and impactful work that helps support the team and the firm's clients. 

Working with the clients has provided an appreciation for how lucky we are to live and work in Southern Alberta. The clients are driven and passionate, which motivates the team to provide the best service possible.

As a team member, you are relied on to be independant, a forward thinker, and work hard. There are high expectations and team members want to do the best they can for the firm, the team members, and their clients.

As an employee I find Avail CPA to be highly professional, supportive and dedicated to providing top-notch services. From the moment I joined the team, I was impressed by the Firms commitment to fostering a positive work environment. The Partners are approachable, understanding and always willing to help. They truly value their employees and have created a culture of collaboration and growth.

Avail CPA is a great place to work! I've experienced working in another accounting firm and it's so much different! I had previously thought I wanted to leave public accounting, I just didn't think I belonged. Then I came to Avail and everything changed. I was supported and encouraged to grow both professionally and personally. I am continually receiving feedback and improving my skills. The culture is great and I have fun every day I'm here. 

Little to no opportunity to provide meaningful additional value to clients as files contain strict time budgets. Seriously lacking communication, where managers and partners will leave you on read for several days at a time, just to tell you to “plug it" somewhere inconspicuous. CPA program study materials are there, but severely outdated. 

Frequent highly inappropriate comments from certain coworkers may be heard around the office from time to time (everyone knows of these certain individuals but I guess they’re too high up for anything to be done about it). 

Office location is incredibly dangerous. Be prepared to walk through hazardous areas if you don't want to pay for parking every day. 

Right from the start, it was pretty clear that Avail was all about looking out for their employees' well-being. They don't just stick to the work stuff; they actually care about our personal lives too, which is pretty awesome.

Teamwork and open communication are big deals at this company. They really listen to everyone's ideas, which makes us feel like we're all in it together. We're like a tight-knit crew, always ready to back each other up.

The leaders here are down-to-earth and genuinely want to see us grow professionally. They're always there, helping us learn and get better at what we do. You can tell they want each of us to reach our full potential.

Highly recommend as an employer. 


The people are great, the culture is great, the clients are great, and overall, Avail is a great place to work. The work can be challenging at times; however, it's also rewarding and you have support along the way from all levels at the firm. Team members are approachable and I truly enjoy being a part of this team. The partners are committed to excellence and providing the best experience for their employees. Highly recommend Avail.

Avail has a great culture that makes you feel valued as a team member. The firm nurtures career growth and is in touch with the work environment. During busy seasons, you can really see the effort put into reducing stress and showing support. 

Extra effort does not go unnoticed, and the firm is very supportive when you show an interest in picking up new skills.

Heavy gossip and poor, inconsistent management. HIGH number of overtime hours required. Training is inadequate for career growth. Workload insufficient to meet growth and time budget expectations.

Avail has a great work culture where everyone is a team player. Management wants to see everyone succeed & are eager to assist where they can. The work/life balance is exceptional and everyone feels welcomed. Lots of growth opportunities within the firm.

Great work culture. Bonus time off. Really take care of their staff. Accommodate hybrid remote work. Free lunches and plenty of snacks. Not perfect but that doesn't exist anyways. Recommend working here.
