The experience here was very awful. There have been many times where I have been gaslighted, put down, ostracized and made to feel like I didn't matter. This place is proof that companies that operate on cliques and favouritism will only go so far.

I was one of the people who kept my head down and did my work, and the people there still treated me like garbage. And just remember people who look like you still mistreat you, regardless of how respectful you are to them.

This place is very toxic and terrible, because the place is full of terrible and toxic people. Just know that those people will never find peace wherever they go.

In marketing, one gets the runway to build a business from the ground up.

Way too many inexperienced cooks in the kitchen interfering with progress

Fast paced and Inclusive culture.

Busy navigating brand development and show priorities. Collaborating with various teams to deliver on marketing deliverables and show priorities with limited resources.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Kind and collaborative culture. A growing company which is very exciting. Thoughtful leadership team.

Could use additional resources as we are growing.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great culture, great people. Colleagues are very supportive. Media people are smart, creative and fun.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work is interesting and with the growth, there are many new initiatives and opportunities to get involved and make an impact.

Blue Ant Media is a growing media company which can be a great start for getting into the Canadian television landscape, but management can be unimaginative and frustrating to deal with and there is little room for advancement from within the company.

Overall, working at Blue Ant is a positive experience, your co-workers are typically great people and the work isn't overly stressful.  You need to be ready to not be too attached to your projects as the main industries the company operates in (television, online/print publishing, consumer events) are in a constant state of flux and budget/funding constraints may result in something that was worked on for months suddenly being indefinitely shelved.

I enjoyed working here. My boss was a great teacher and everyone was very understanding. The company was very active in fun activities and had great team spirit. Unfortunately the company merged with another and some departments got new managers and everything changed including my position. I was never given the salary that i was promised and they kept me at an extremely low rate

This is due to lacking senior management with a vision, plus action plan to execute.   While the company has very great resources and talent in house, some of the questions of 'where are we going' are not addressed.   Blue Ant is a constantly changing environment, so if you are ok floating around in an ecosystem, great place to work.

Fun place to work at first, but the employees at the bottom, making the least amount of money seem to care more about creating quality content than anyone in management. This is a common frustration that most employees share, which quickly drains any enthusiasm you once had for the job.

As an intern I am actually able to work on meaningful tasks that have a real impact on the company. Both my supervisor and management are supportive, but keep me challenged. The workplace culture is fun and exciting, and there are always events going on during the year. I'm interning to complete placement hours for my school program, and I feel lucky I ended up with Blue Ant.

- trying to grow too fast
- would implement a plan then not give the plan enough time to pan out before pulling the plug and changing direction/focus.
