A typical day is fast-paced and always changing. There’s a variety of tasks, and working with a large group keeps things interesting and engaging.


I worked in sales at Bannister Dealership, and I have to say, my day-to-day experience was enjoyable. The co-workers were fantastic, and we had a lot of fun working together. It was a lively environment, which made coming to work easier.

However, the major downside is the blatant nepotism within the company. They talk a lot about investing in employees and helping people grow from within, but that’s not the reality. If you’re not part of the inner circle or the "old boys club," moving up is almost impossible. Top positions are often given to people with little to no experience, while more qualified internal candidates get overlooked.

It’s frustrating to see management constantly brag about the company’s culture, but in truth, it feels like empty promises. If you’re hoping to build a long-term career here with growth opportunities, you might want to reconsider. There’s a definite ceiling unless you’re well-connected.

They say “people don’t quit their jobs, they quit their management”

The middle management tries their best to do what they can with what they have available but they are over worked and spread so thin they don't have time to put into new employees. The training is very minimal and you're just expected to figure it out or watch online videos in the 13 seconds of spare time a day. Pay was promised at a certain level to start but was not close to reality.
Was originally offered a lucrative possibility but told I need to start somewhere a little lower key. Found out about 2 months in they had zero intention of coming through with the original plan and had "forgotten about me once I went up to service."
GM doesn't even know the name of an employee that's been there for 3 years and basically holds the department together, just cares about the survey %. 

Apparently i applied for full time but little did i know they were planning on making me a short term substitute. I asked them if they could at leasr give me the two week decency to let me know in advance if i’m staying or leaving so i could at least prepare myself to look for something different. But the higher up decided to just surprise me about the news that they were letting me go out of nowhere. I am truly confused and upset i do understand the business part of it all but i was hoping to get a little bit of decency since i asked specifically if i should be worried and start looking for a newer job. But they told me we’ll get there when we get there. Be careful this job bites back when you least expected it! It can be nice and warm at first but watch yourself when you apply here. Goodluck 

Boring, boring, boring....In sales, they have you stand at a window, staring at 2 monitors with video feeds of the car lot - you could stand there for up to 8 hours in the winter The second someone drives onto the lot you are expected to go out there and stop them. Isn't that why people hate car salesmen? When not being bored out of your mind at the window, you're expected to phone previous customers. Then when that's done....you wait some more. You work 9 hour shifts, inhale your lunch and get back to doing nothing and look busy. Split days off and work every Saturday. One salesmen said he hasn't had a Saturday off in 30 years...sad. Rotating door of staff from sales, parts and service. Worked at other dealerships and never seen anything like this place.

I have been with the Bannister Group for 9 years, working my way through several positions. I started in their Business Development Center and loved the team environment there. Lots of incentives and chances to earn extra money. Fun games/lunches/pot lucks and overall enjoyable office to work in. This is a company that strongly believes in promoting from within and I have seen that first hand with myself and several coworkers.

This is truly a family run business with family values. Management does care about each and every employee. Want to be treated like a person not a number, work here. Everyday every job has it's stresses but here stress points are minimized and when it gets real stressful and it can, its for a moment, not hours or days. Servicing vehicles is a fast paced environment, but each staff member is respected for using their time at work wisely. When there is a situation we need to slow ourselves down, we can, with full support of Management. Want a great place you can call home and enjoy coming to work, work here.

After just over a year of working here, I can confidently say it's been nothing short of amazing. 
Everyone here wants to succeed and help others succeed as well. 
Each department is close to one another which makes it great for those fast-paced days. 
We are constantly growing as a dealership and have one of the highest Customer Service Satisfaction ratings in the country. We also have a great community following and are partnered with one of the greatest places on earth - SilverStar Mountain Resort!

Training, the assistance to do my job well was not available. Due to the people who were to train were not available. Too bust.

Fun, busy, I found it to be a place others helped you feel welcome.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and many things going on all the time. But there are a lot of customers waiting on parts

Technicians are treated poorly on almost all levels of management, rarely given feedback unless its negative. Techs are made to do certain work for free under flat rate and they like to deduct hours under your nose at months end with no explanation. Constantly battling for your hours and with no guarantee winter months can be brutal. They also like to try and make you stay when there's no work to be done and not pay you for it. They fire employees at random after years of service with no explanation.
