I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 10 years, and this by far is the worst place I have ever worked!

When you are initially hired they promise a balanced work schedule and benefits. You are only eligible for benefits if you work a min of 40hrs a week, which will happen in the summer. Be prepared to work an average of 50hrs a week when its busy and 10hrs a week when it's not. This inconstancy in hours can be typical when working in this industry but I have never experienced it to this extent, specially when hired to be "full time"

The upper management can be rude and extremely unprofessional. Don't expect to have your voice herd or any problem solved. My big issues with management was how they put weird expectations on supervisors, like not allowing us to be friendly to the staff, making up rules half way through shifts, making us sign a waiver so we can work 16hr shifts back to back with little down time in-between shifts

Job security... there is none. With the threat of losing your job being a regular occurrence, as the management staff gossip about supervisors and other management staff. The turn over rate here is astonishing. They won't provide enough hours to servers, so they get 2nd or 3rd jobs, and aren't available for big events. The company often brings in a good percentage of "temp" workers. There is also little to no advancement. 

It's hard to say what a typical day looks like as its always changing. But be prepare to be over worked and do many tasks outside of your job description. 

The only upside about working here is that there is ALOT of staff so you're bound to make a friend or two.

The management is DETERMINED not to communicate with people - this is ONE of the reasons there’s such lack of communication. Sensitive crowd, gotta be so careful what you say now cause we have a tendency to victimize ourselves nowadays. And this signing in/out using ADP is ridiculous! It’s glitchy, it’s NOT reliable and the chaos and frustration among EVERYONE certainly reflects that! But this is another way companies are saving money by not employing staff to do the administrative work that some people took time out of their lives and got educated for, took courses, took classes, paid money and now those jobs are all gone - staff are thrown to the wolves, do it yourself and people are starting to get really fed up with that. I messaged management (more than once) after Screampark finished, it’s been two weeks and they’ve chose not to respond and I actually find that quite rude and disrespectful to working people. Aside from all the company politics and drama, it COULD be a very nice place to work and there are some great people there, but there are definitely wrinkles to be ironed out when it comes to getting the ball rolling with what USE to be a simple daily task and it starts with COMMUNICATION and unfortunately Bingemans (just like every other company since the beginning of this global reset/summit) are trying so desperately to NOT communicate with people and that is very unprofessional, in my humble opinion - not like that’ll change anything because we don’t want to interfere with the CEO’s and the shareholders and the record profits that they’re secretly reporting…

A typical day at work during the summer would include, a lot of customers some of them angry at the expense of their day off, some really pleasing customers after you try to work them a deal, where they can get in for cheaper.  The management team was amazing, they tried to help everyone they could, but didn't make any promises.  My co-workers were experienced and never made a mistake, I only wish that I looked the same to them.  The hardest part of the job came when there was a thunderstorm, and the customers ended to get angry and request refunds.  At Bingemans we don't offer refund in case of a thunderstorm.  The customers tend to get in our face, and we explain that there is nothing we can do, but we can get a member from the team of management to assist them with their request.  Perhaps the hardest part of the job was actually maintaining your composure when things got tough, and you had no idea what you were supposed to do.  The most enjoyable part of the job, was the perks.  Bingemans was a part of Attractions Ontario, which means that Bingemans employees had access to discounts for other attractions in Ontario, as well as free access to movies and free access to Bingemans.

Though this job was a wonderful experience working with children outdoors all summer, the management and environment was less than favourable. The employees have little interaction with one another besides your varying co-counsellors and even less interaction with the supervisors. They actually encourage you to not ask questions or call the supervisors for help, leaving very stressful and often overwhelming situations on counsellors' shoulders due to a lack of control and overall flow in the camp environment. Often campers are put together that are known to have behavioural issues when together, placing the responsibility on the counsellors to deal with attempting to separate these campers because they become more unruly together. This often impacts the other camper's weeks at camp because the entirety of the time is spent trying to separate campers that shouldn't have been put together in the first place. I have witnessed unprofessional behaviour from the supervisors, creating an extremely uneasy environment to learn and grow and ask questions. I truly believe this place could be wonderful if it wasn't for the supervisors isolating the staff and themselves and creating an environment where asking for help is discouraged. 

I work at the Boston Pizza side of bingemans and it was not all that bad at first. Everyone was really friendly therefore made time spent there enjoyable. But then they started enforcing rules brought down from hr and everything went to garbage. Management was bad for the most part but there were a few managers that were awesome but oh wait, they're leaving too. Hr started firing people for dumb reasons including the very few people left that made it fun to work there including 2 hostesses that were fired for who knows what, not even they understand how or why they got fired. Now although there is still great people there, it's just boring and stressful with all the stress of wondering if they are going to fire you next as they seem to watch you 24/7 through cameras. Their bowling lanes are falling apart as they fired the most experienced and lovable bowl tech they had for a stupid reason and even banned him because he was "distracting". Then all the other ones quit after him because they had enough. In other words the place is falling apart.

I have worked here for the past 5 years and still continue to grow in my role and enjoy the workplace.
This company is amazing and has supportive management. There are many opportunities for you to grow, strengthen your strengths and they help guide you to overcome your weaknesses. I enjoy the fast-paced environment and appreciate the learning experiences from the managers which I encompass in my own daily routines at work. 
Sometimes the most stressful parts are the fast-paced environment and tight deadlines which does keep you busy on your toes. In these times you are very grateful for supportive and friendly co-workers and managers to help you when needed. 
It is sad to see negative words when only parts of the truth are written. I have worked at many places in a few different industries, and this company is by far the greatest place I have worked for. My words are heard, and my suggestions are taken into considerations and not ignored.

Since it was a haunted house, most of the work we did was at night. A typical day involved getting ready with costumes/makeup, and providing a fun and frightening experience for customers. Through this job I learned that I have a passion for special effects makeup. While some nights were chaotic, it was managed very well, and the first priority was always the safety of us actors as well as the customers. We were definitely all very fun people, and we all fit together because we all had the same interests in horror. The hardest part of the job was definitely staying out in the cold for long periods of time; we all had to remind ourselves why we were out there so that we wouldn't try to go back inside. The best part was definitely the reactions we got from the people who went through the screampark. At the end of the day we all knew we had made someone's night, or managed to get a good spook in, and that made all the hardest parts worth it.

pretty repetitive days, but filled with swimming, rock climbing, sports, games and such. From volunteering for only 2 weeks I was able to feel like such a kid again, and it's easy to build strong relationships with the kids there. A typical day would also consist of carrying the water jugs back to the campo ground at least a few times (which are very heavy and spill water all over your clothes, which makes the walk back feel like forever) taking kids to the washroom about 20 times a day, and lots of loitering around in your wet bathing suit or outside the restroom for thirty minutes at a time. Overall, it is a really great experience that is really fast pace and sometimes exhausting. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys spending time with children.

While there are some redeemable aspects (free food, time spent outdoors, enjoyable coworkers for the most part), overall this is not where you want to spend a summer.

The camper:counsellor ratio is 12:1, including in the waterpark. The schedules are the same every week so campers who are there every week are bored by the end of the summer from the repetition. You also will get no breaks even on days where it is mandated to arrive at 7 am and you are expected to stay till 5:30pm. Pay is not reflective of the effort demanded from you on a daily basis and you are expected to make phone calls on the weekend to all the parents for the upcoming week. 

Very hectic days and you will leave with horror stories, however, you will be able to come up with an answer to every cliche interview question you will ever be asked again

I was really excited to get a job at Bingemans as it looked like a fun summer job. I was very wrong. I asked to work part-time and specifically said 3-4 days a week but they scheduled me 6 days every week even when I asked for less hours. The management is awful. Very unorganized, rude and unreliable. As a Housekeeper for the water park I was very annoyed that we never had cleaning products in our stock room which resulted in myself and my other coworkers unable to clean which lead to customers getting very angry at us. Food was barely discounted either. We weren’t allowed to sit down or go inside even when the blistering heat was making us feel overwhelmed/sick.
