I was hesitant to work for this company due to the fact that jobs are not as secure in first nations organizations. Going on two years I can now comment and say what a wonderful bunch of people I work with. We are a family who work hard together and get things done for this community.  The management are fair and very supportive of staff from the get go. The culture is a positive one in that they onboard, develop and train staff until they are comfortable in their jobs. A very busy place but everyone help each other out. I feel very supported and  look forward to coming to work every day. 

Pros: definitely the solid team, management support and leadership
Cons:  none!

One of the worst places to work at, highly toxic environment, HR person is the most unqualified person holds only high school as highest education and the fact that she does all interviews is unimaginable. Long 200 km commute to work everyday (No pay for the commute). Administrator - Band Admin has access to all staff work emails and monitors every email of the staff , micromanages staff. Lots of issues raises conflict of interest in regards to different positions within the company (HR). You dont need education or experience and still get extremely high pay if you know people at the top. No work values or no respect for the employee. Underpaid staff and highly overpaid staff.Lots of politics at work.

The administration is run inefficiently, from a work, as well as, way under-qualified human resources standpoint. Very little flexibility regarding job, because all working hours you are multi-tasking like a nurse, assistant or a clerk is cooking meal, washing dishes, doing janitorial, picking garbage carrying spare tires etc. you job must be done on your own personal time/ text & phone calls from supervisors. No Value of personal time.No travel allowances or wages paid for 2 hours commuting everyday.

This is a terrible company to work for. We start with a feeling of helping indigenous community, after that very bad treatment of community starts by the administration. Employees are not treated well, underpaid , toxic environment, departments lack communication as everything is centralized under Director of operations, hence lack of communications among all the  employees.

nepotism has been hidden under "building local capacity". For example, there is someone with grade 11 as the Associate Health Director. It is a small outfit where the salaries are incredibly high and do not match credentials. Lateral violence is rampant and management is weak.

I worked there for over 17 years and it was a challenge to work for my relatives who are so afraid of change.  I loved to work with the elders and youth on community events such as pow-wows dances and potluck.

We were contractors of the Blueberry First Nations. We are sad that this job has ended. They paid timely, the management was well organized. Everyone Mae, Olivia, Farzard, Liezel were all very pleasant. It was a great place to work.  We hope to work with you again soon.

this place is a very quiet working environment, it can get busy sometimes and hectic, people come and go as they need too
what I learned from here is this place has taught me how to deal with people that are in angry situation it taught me how to stay calm and how to respect other people

Paid not according to work , 2 hours of travel everyday without any pay/ allowance (very harsh in winter), No Communication among departments.   Lot of Stress.

Management is great. Understanding and flexible. Colleagues are great to work with, never a dull moment. You learn something new everyday and days are usually busy but are able to manage.
