The weakest and most dishonest management ever, unless you are desperate for a job don’t bother, you can do much better and don’t deserve to be mentally abused by the current management at Bouygues YLW. The union was a absolute waste of money, management changed our shifts on a whim and ignored the collective agreement when it suited them. I have never left a negative review for a company but the disrespect they have for the workers is really disgusting. Very negative work environment, no teamwork, high staff turnover, high sick time and workers booked off on stress leave. You deserve better, trust me.

Being on a large civil engineering project was the first so learning was an everyday experience. Also learnt that the adage "time is money' was just that so management of time was crucial. Co-workers were from several nationalities so the cultural experience was phenomenal.
The hardest part of the job was constantly working under pressure as design or obstacles occurred and the most enjoyable part was overcoming those obstacles.

No good experiences due to poor management and HR department

Undervalued, no recognition or incentive, no appraisal in 3 years

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hostile environment, expectation to work 40+ hours a week to the point they ask you to sign a waiver when you join to exceed your contracted hours 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work overload, no guidance, limited resources, poor training, too much unnecessary  paperwork, very political

Typical day would include accounting related tasks such as invoice processing and payment issuance. I got to learn more concretely the interactions between the different suppliers and the employer. The hardest part of the job was surely dealing with all the fiscal rules in application in BC. I enjoyed the fact that I was able to work under little supervision. This freedom of action meant I could take decisions on my own in some instances which I like very much. Co-worker were extremely helpful and very friendly.

The work schedule, start and stop times and days off varied from week to week and sometimes day to day.  I learned to use a range of skills on a range of equipment and was not bored in what I had to do.  Management did not always understand the niche job requirements, but that may be typical anywhere.  Co-workers were great and will be missed.  The hardest part of the job was the randomness to the shift schedule to balance with home life.  The most enjoyable part of the job was the unique environment.  Good benefits package.

previous manager is unfair and always gives you warnings, not even sure what level of education or experience he got to be a fit for his role. A new manager took over and everything seems better now

work culture is one the best ive ever experienced. they hired diversed and cool good looking smart people

will be awesome if we recive higher pay, around $27 for AOC atleast and other branches deserves this too considering the minimum wage in manitoba

I have worked at Bouygues Construction for about 7 months. My typical day includes liaising with clients, document control, surveying the construction site, inspections and recognizing deficiencies. I originally worked as a consultant so I have learned all that I know about general contracting at Bouygues. My team has provided me with patience and the resources I needed to learn/complete my job with ease. The hardest part of my job is getting a hold of trades to complete deficiencies and the best part is dealing with people.

During my time of working here, it felt as if I was getting used considering I was a new employee. Anytime I voiced a concern or problem that I had, it never seemed that it was being listened to. Getting constantly harassed by co workers over the smallest things. The shifts were something I wasn't to keen of. Felt like I never had the time to visit with friends/family since the shifts were far from good. I would only recommend this job if you don't have a problem feeling lonely

Interesting job, great people.  Shift schedules could be improved

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Overnight shifts.  Emergency management and strict adherence to policy and procedures.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Productive, good team work mentality

I consider myself  a part of a then hardworking maintenance team and watching the success of handwork materialized. It was my pride and pleasure to be able to achieved any objectives that were set out by management, as it pertains to my job as a Welder Specialist . Safety was paramount and co-workers were awesome.
