The company relies heavily on external agency and do not staff according to the changing needs. 
Rather than giving their staff pay a reasonable pay increase (24 cents for 4 years in the last collective agreement) they spend the funds renovating the office yearly and purchase items such as cameras and finger scanning devices. 
Many managers are wonderful however many can be difficult and forget what it is like working front line. 
You are just a number working for this organization even after working there for over a decade and they do not offer you work life balance. Their scheduling structure is set up in such a way that you cannot work another job. 
They tend to side with staff who are brown nosers and anyone who is willing to call and report things over working with their teams to resolve conflict. 
The management team also pits staff against each other and will lie to you claiming that many staff complain about things that we not even a complaint or something that was brought up to try and trap someone in a lie. 
The pay was okayish but for the stress of the company and major understaffing issues it is not worth it. 
I was not given medical accommodations after surgery as the company felt the lack of staffing was more important than a surgeons restrictions. 

Been working there for a year. I was with an amazing strong team and supported amazing clients. But got “fired” without probable cause. So be careful. They can fire you at any time. I was VERY surprised and had no warning. Just went in for a “normal” supervision, but left being “let go”  to the “hire ups” decision. Later I learned they did a MASS hire (when I go hired) and they have been letting go all the new people they hired… No warnings. Nothing. And couldn’t even meet with my manager or the director to ask them more questions… really truly was enjoying this job, and was mid session for running day programs as a PERMANENT FULL TIME STAFF to now jobless. 
 

I have worked with BCCL in two different areas. The management teams are always supporting you, whether the support be personal or professional. They recognize those that show dedication and passion for this work, and encourage your growth as both an individual and employee. Overall, the work environment is friendly, open and welcoming. The team environment is strong at BCCL and I have thoroughly enjoyed both of my roles within the agency. 

The management is very effective and a typical work day includes, ensuring that the environment is safe for individuals being supported, they have nutritional meals and that they receive their medication. The most enjoyable part of the  job is seeing how much the individuals being supported are empowered.

The company is a great organization to work for. The individuals support are treated with the utmost respect and supported to live their best and most independent life. Management is good for the most part, part time individuals however are paid less than full time employees, which is the area which needs attention.

Typically good work environment depending on location you’re placed at. The job definitely has its challenges but if you’re able to work together with your team the job gets done efficiently. Hours are not consistent though, You are required to do rotating shifts. 

Started my career with BCCL, they provided me with opportunities to grow as a person as well as an employee. Management is excellent and supportive. 

I work as case manager as well as in the day program didn't work in any of the group homes
