What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay and ability to clock out and not bring work home was great.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Sometimes unrealistic timelines or expectations to meet lofty Partner demands.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Can be low-key and low-stress, but high-stress situations can come out of nowhere. Individual Partners don't communicate with each other, which can lead to multiple "urgent" requests in quick succession. The pay is great, but talk of being a "family" is largely superficial.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sitting at a desk, working on tasks.

I was part of the accounting team. I learned a lot about law firms practices and how e-billing was done. I became proficient at Aderant for software, and learned about OpenLaw, and Tymetrix 360. Write downs were easy and filing as well. 
Management was incredible, No micromanagement here. I recommend Brownlee 100%.
The benefits were great, co workers, great. Lots of employee perks and outings.

The management and H.R are not about supporting the support staff. There is bullying within the office, and nothing gets done. People are scared to voice opinions because they think nobody cares or will do anything. 
It's so negative, you leave everyday just drained. And right now I know a ton of assistants that want to leave, but like their lawyer or have been there so long they are scared.

100% premiums paid on the staff benefits like vision and dental, which is very rare in a workplace. Social committee allows staff to participate in group activities and games, and once in a while there's free ice cream.

Extremely busy environment but people are still able to enjoy and staff events are always nice. I've progressed in terms of completing multiple and competing tasks. 

The only thing I had difficulty with was communication among seniors for specific tasks, and with HR.

Brownlee has amazing people that work there but having to go through 2 HR departments is frustrating because it feels like you're getting the runaround.

Brownlee was a wonderful place to be employed and it was very difficult to leave, but I made the decision to move to Penticton BC.  I left on my own accord, even though I thoroughly enjoyed the lawyers I worked with.

I would not want to work there again. Management is always vigilant and it feels like you are always being watched. Despite an "open door" policy, it is very uncomfortable to speak with senior staff.

 Workload seems unfair. Some assistants do less and others much more. Benefits are great. The worst part is the micromanagement. Feel like you are constantly being watched. Hybrid work environment which is a plus.

Would not recommend working here no job security and there is a lot of bullying and gossip and high turnover they have great benefits, but don’t offer enough training
