Poor workplace culture with inexperienced management. The company is not goal-oriented, communication is lacking, and expectations are unclear. Processes are inefficient, and there’s little effort to improve them. During my time there, I felt unsupported, and feedback was rarely sought or given. If you are someone who thrives in a positive, collaborative environment, this may not be the right fit. For those wanting to make a meaningful impact, it’s often best to seek opportunities in organizations with a healthier culture and clearer direction.

It was the worst company I worked for in my 20+ years of oil & gas experience. Toxic environment, bully culture, extremely high staff turnover, non- supportive management practicing favoritism, pre-pandemic salary cuts were never reversed and they did not offer any hybrid modifications post-pandemic. Overall, much below industry standards. Stay away if you’re looking for a professional workplace. Look somewhere else where you can grow and excel in your career. 

Constant lies from management, blame everyone but themselves. They are not moving forward but feel their staff are all expendable, treat you like a piece of garbage. Famous lines are if you won’t do it there are 100 people out there that will.  The other reviews are obviously done from the management team or family members. I don’t know of one person who is happy working for this company

Personally, I've had a great experience working for Canlin (formerly: Direct Energy/Centrica). Good management team, supportive environment. Worked there for 7 years. Unfortunately, due to the adverse market conditions in the oil & gas industry, there are limited opportunities for personal development.

I really enjoyed my employment time with Canlin Energy, the other who worked there were very good at the jobs they did. Canlin had a group of very qualified individuals which made being the Safety Advisor a whole lot easier. They were focused on safety and doing a task well, focused on watching out for each other.

The company went through several corporate ownership changes and this led to multiple years of nothing new being done, just re-doing work to present to different suitors.  The assets are gas heavy and likely cashflow restricted.  The management seems to care about keeping their status and not about making good, economic decisions.

The biggest thing I appreciate about Canlin is the freedom to promote change and have a voice. Downtown is extremely detached from field staff which is a negative. Unionized Operations staff is a challenge. Overall, enjoy the working with my peers. Never a dull moment here. 

It has so much potential to be on top but with the economy’s down turn it’s up stable. I think they still need to make some important changes in the other locations.

Disappointed by poor management, their lack of skills, and inadequate compensation. Needs significant improvement for a better work environment, unfortunately it will probably never happen.

After many buy outs and name changes we ended up Canlin. They made lots of promises to keep everyone but that was a lie and laid off the majority of the people. 
You can tell the well site house keeping has went down.
