I've never felt so emotionally and mentally drained after leaving a job. The company claims that it's all a team, but basically, you're nothing but a number. Safety is preached, but that is only true if it doesn't trump productivity. 

The start wage seems pretty decent on the surface, but when you see the amount of work you have to do. It's hardly worth it. Favoritism is beyond a problem at Connect. Hourly employees dating management is another issue. Those hourly Tm's receive special treatment/favoritism or promotion.

There is zero loyalty from the company on any level. If you look at long term employees, they're making the same amount as someone who has only been with the company a few years. It doesn't matter what job function you're doing. All positions are paid the same! So someone doing backbreaking jobs are paid the same as someone pushing a broom, or a person putting stickers on bottles are being paid the same as an employee killing themselves. The wages are stagnant and it doesn't even keep pace with the cost of living. Any raises you receive will only be taken away from them cutting your hours. The management is getting a raise to their salary every year though.

 If you question them on anything be prepared to have it turned it around on you. It doesn't matter if it's the Operations Manager, or a so-called “team leader” they have an answer or an excuse for everything. Sadly the biggest issues with the company are the current management and the human resources department is a close second. If you go to HR about a supervisor, you should be prepared to have a target on your back. The work environment is so oppressive.  


And for the positive. The benefits package is really good and it has no co-pay, fitness reimbursement, company events, lunches, bonus(If you get it), and company pension are all great perks. If you're looking for a short term pay cheque this might be OK, but if you're wanting a career or wanting to pay bills, I suggest looking elsewhere.

Any company that has the turnover that Connect has should be wondering why. The terrible management is the common denominator in the high turnover rate or leadership as they refer to themselves. It couldn't be further from the truth.

Don't stay long

The nonsense starts right from the get-go at connect. When the company hires staff they're never honest about the work schedule. In the summer months, you're basically forced to work whatever hours they dump on you. They don't care about what impact it has on your personal/family life. And other times they cut your hours so bad you may have to work a 2nd job. So why not be straight up with people?

Connect distributes cannabis, but the staff can't use it in their free time. The company has a drug testing policy, but refuses to do pre-employment testing. The policy is never communicated in job postings, or in the hiring process. Only people in select positions will ever be tested. How is that fair?

Workplace favoritism is a massive problem here. There is a different set of rules for different staff. An old boys club is a good way, to sum up, things here.

The wages never keep up with the cost of living in the local area. The management continues to get raises to their salary, but the hourly staff doing the work will be making the same forever. All while the company tells you how good you have it.

The company Conducts employee opinion surveys and wonders why they keep getting lower scores. I might suggest looking in the mirror. The long term staff is exploited and never rewarded for staying with the company. If there was ever a company that needs a union, it would be here.

Their Managing style is defend, deflect, deny, or if all else fails attack you personally. The management is cancer that enables or causes the bulk of the issues. Human resources should be a middleman between the hourly staff and the higher-ups but it's a 2nd arm of the management.

If you didn’t have anxiety before working here, you definitely will develop it while being here. Connect is the perfect incubator for it. The management is a massive problem that aids in the stress. If someone from the management is talking to you, you should automatically assume that you’re being lied too. The lying starts from the minute you walk in the door. They have zero integrity and will say whatever it takes to get what they want. All while being fake and pretending to be nice, but sticking a knife in your back the first chance they get.

Start-up meetings consisted of constant threats of discipline up to and including termination. Not sure how that makes for a good work environment. 

The sheer amount of rules and policies is absurd, the majority of it is never enforced, or only on certain people. If you’re one of the chosen/ favourite ones that means you won’t be bothered. Internal transfer positions are posted for everyone to apply, but often they already know who will be picked. The posting is just for optic purposes. Hard work is never rewarded, but they will exploit you. Connect sadly favours the weak employees and often promotes them. The level is favouritism is mind boggling.

The so called leadership(Management) encourages and rewards staff for snitching on co-workers. This was told to my face by a supervisor. So begs to question why they preach teamwork so much.

I liked the benefits package and some of the company events. I can honestly say that working here for a large amount of time is waste of your life. It’s pretty much a dead end job. If you look at long term staff and see how miserable they are, thus proving this point.

Connect Logistics is a 24/7 operation that works all holidays with the exception of the holiday season in December. Typically your day starts early, depending on what your shift is, and goes for minimum 8 hours but more like a minimum of 10 hours. Overtime at this job is plentiful and always there. More than once in a month I would accumulate over 20 hours of overtime.

Learning opportunities within Connect are great. There are many things to learn and there are always opportunities to move around within the company.

Management is clear on what they expect and their approachability. The ratio of managers to staff is about one manager to every 10 workers which creates a good chain of command and an easy access to management should you have concerns or questions.

Co-workers are good, but they lack the drive to work as a team especially interdepartmental. Everyone is friendly and helpful should you need it.

The hardest part of the job is being able to maintain the engineered standard of productivity when you are working 55 hours a week. Not every week is that hard but there are a couple times a year where the volumes are huge and we need to get them out the door, always winning in the end.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the friendships you create because everyone is on the same page and they all get along. Really good place to work if you don't mind the overtime and the heavy lifting.

Worst experience of my life. Avoid this place at all costs if you want to keep your sanity.
Pay isn’t great for the amount of work you are expected to do. It’s a very unsafe and dirty environment. They try and tell you it’s all about being safe but it’s not. It’s about numbers. If you don’t pick over a thousand cases a day you will be let go. 
  Every person working there is miserable. The odd people that work hard have to make up for the other 75% of people that don’t do anything. 
 If you complain to HR about anything you will become a target and you life there will become even worse. 
 The new big warehouse is too small and they run out of room to put stuff every shift so the Team leaders that have worked there for years freeze up or freak out.  
  There are way to many leaders , Gm’s etc. all they really do is stand around while you are over worked. 
 You have to account for every second that you work !
 A huge warehouse with only one bathroom for men one for women . The men often have to use the woman’s bathroom because there’s always a line up. 
  Just an overall horrible experience. I’ll never work another warehouse job thanks to my experience at Connect logistics.  I also worked at the cannabis warehouse where the fired 50 people just from night shift due to no product. They promise lots but deliver nothing.

I’ll start off by saying that this disaster of a workplace is run by the old boys club. The amount of unprofessional behaviour and favouritism that happens here is sickening. The only way you’ll be able to move up in this company is if you brown nose the Operation manager’s, lie and snitch on your co-workers because I’ve even heard that from upper management. You get yelled at and even made a fool out of for talking to another employee for a brief second but the favourites can talk to anyone at any time and even have bad picking scores (LMS)  without getting in trouble like the minority would. For every 10 people hired, 7 of them either walk out or stop showing up within the first couple of weeks (hmm I wonder why!) The HR department is just as bad and won’t help you if you file a bullying or harassment complaint about anyone especially the TL’s. You’re basically digging your own grave by doing so and I learned that the hard way. During the morning meetings you are told to confide in management if you’re having problems whether it’s workplace harassment or your speed when building a pallet but when you do they’ll just let you go without working with you. It’s a new warehouse and so are the machinery but because everyone is so miserable and no one cares then everything looks old and worn out. If you wanna keep your sanity and dignity then don’t ever work here.

If you value your mental health and physical well-being, I strongly recommend staying away from this company. The work environment is toxic, and the management is among the worst I’ve encountered. They hire and fire employees on a near-weekly basis, creating constant job insecurity.Management seems more focused on finding reasons to write people up than supporting their team.
Daily meetings on safety feel performative, especially since you’re immediately pushed to meet unrealistic and unsafe LMS performance targets right afterward.This company prioritizes profits above all else. Employees are treated as disposable—brought in during peak seasons and then pressured to quit or terminated under questionable pretenses.
Shift managers are intimidating employees and constantly searching for reasons to issue write-ups, whether it's related to LMS or staircasing (regardless of whether the staircaseing was done by you or not) !. They time every step you make in the warehouse . I know someone who received a warning simply for clocking out at 6:01 instead of exactly at 6:00! This is a true story!
Everyone I’ve spoken with likes the paycheck but dislikes the company culture, and most are actively searching for other jobs.
My honest advice: STAY AWAY. 


Work under a umbrella of fear, negativity, punishment. Every minute, second your working on a shift is being monitored on a performance matrix. You will have to swipe in or out 8 times a shift on a time clock. Any reason you have to stop working has to be coded and document on a daily report sheet which will be reviewed by mangement daily. As an order picker team member you will daily receive a report card score of your previous shift performance.You better meet the highly unrealistic performance goals or else. This company has no trust in your ability to time manage yourself and get the job done. For such a new building the warehouse floor space is very poorly designed for foot traffic forklift interaction.  Walking across or around the warehouse  space following a piece of tape on the floor with dozen of forklifts coming at you from any direction with little or no hard barriers in place is far from safe.  Also language barriers exsist for many english is the second language used.  For such a large global company that thinks its modern, progressive operating in a new building this was the worst employer ever.

While this job pays what I thought was well, it doesn't pay for the amount of stress it gives you. All of the management on all 3 shifts are run by children, and when I say that I mean they keep bringing in people with 5 years or less of management experience and most of these TL's are straight out of college. You don't even need a degree with managing historyThey'll work you til you dry up and shrivel up. If you're caught not working for 5 minutes you get spoken to, and possibly even disciplinary actions for it. They treat you like wild animals, and they've even started controlling break times. If you're late or too early you get written up or coachings. If you break something (which usually happens at least once or twice a day on each shift at least)  they shun you and make you feel extremely bad about it. And don't you dare try arguing with any management here because they will have it out for you until you're fired, or quit.

I worked as a receiving "team member" at the outside buildings. The outside buildings are treated like 2nd class employees. When it's busy you're expected to work all the hours they throw at you. This can be up to 12hr days. When it gets slow your hours get slashed. So its basically a glorified part time job.

Connect is hiring lots of supervisors from outside and often can't do the jobs they're supervising. Yet they somehow find a way to criticize and coach you on the same positions they can't do.

If you want to work at a place where hard workers are exploited and left doing all the hard work while weak staff are moved on, this is the place for you. Oh and bad behaviour is rewarded at every opportunity

Most of the staff are constantly looking for other jobs. The company would benefit from a union. If anything it would help with all the favouritism problems. Also the wages are pretty stagnant. Staying and working for the same amount of money for ever is not really appealing.
