Was excited to be offered a job here as Craigwood was considered the place to work when I was in school but after getting the job I regretted taking the job offer. Management does not include training all you get is a 4-hour orientation shift that mainly just covers going over policies then, they just throw you to the wolves and expect you to be able to do the job. The full-time staff doesn't give support instead of showing new staff how to do the tasks, they just so oh, we will do it at three months in, I still did not know how to do the computer logs, and I only learned as I kept asking to be shown and one good staff finally offered to teach me. 
The pay is bad and not equal to what we should be paid. Also, you can not have a soical life with this company as you are often ordered to stay last minute and are forced to work doubles (16-hour shifts) 
Management is not supportive and will often shame you if you have previous commitments and tell them you can't be ordered or try to use your vacation days. When they make mistakes, they will try to blame it on the worker and will not admit they were wrong or apologize.

Management is horrible at this place, they constantly "order" you to work 16 hour shifts at the last minute when you're about to go home from your scheduled 8 hour shift. It's hard to maintain a personal/social life while working at Craigwood. Management often shames you when you say you have prior commitments and threaten to write you up if you say no to being ordered for not having a "valid reason". They do not respect you if you have another job, and will tell you to call in sick to your other job so you can work the 16 hour shift.

Training is horrible at Craigwood, they give you a four hour orientation in the three different programs then except you to know how to do your job. Most of the full-timers are burnt out and do not assist the new staff in learning.

The pay is not worth it at all for what you are expected to do. 10/10 would not recommend working here!!

There are opportunities to grow and expand your clinical/professional skills in a wide variety of ways. The agency will support your growth, although growth is often self-led at this time (not much additional training provided).
There is a shift towards improving the overall culture of the agency, and aligning itself with updated service delivery practices.

Salaries are horrible for ‘low level’ staff. Under $38k. Have to pay benefit portion and union dues out of wages ($200 a month!!) And do not stick up for yourself - management doesn’t like that!! 
Screening process is a nightmare. They want First Aid/CPR, TB test, vaccines, fitness test from physician and this is all at your expense. They may do good for the community but they don’t care about some of the staff. Do yourself a favour and keep looking.

Management is so unsupportive, they do not care for their workers at all. Management has created this toxic culture, and brings everyone down. They will order you to work 8 more hours after your shift is over, and there is no say. Majority of the time it’s a very unsafe work environment. 

Passive Aggressive Management that will take out their frustrations on staff. Consistently ignores safety procedures that other Youth Detention Programs utilize. On-Call Managers rarely answer the phone or call back. Staff are unjustly punished and called out in front of other Staff and Youth.

It is a good environment to build essential front line work. Your Co-Workers help you develop and understand the core values of the agency and help develop the required knowledge of the environment to best fit to practice.

Good place to work. Works within stated Programs with warmth and attention to clients. Always attempts to provide the necessary for each client, whether by advocation or literally providing day to day means.

Was ordered into staying for 16 hour shifts weekly, low pay for the high intensity of the job, management takes no responsibility and blames front line workers for their mistakes.

Great company and awesome employees. You will learn so much here and enjoy it. The days are long but don't feel like it. Great for first time employees starting out in this field
