I’ve had the pleasure of working as a server at this restaurant for several years now, and I can confidently say it’s been one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve ever had. From day one, the atmosphere has felt like home — welcoming, supportive, and filled with people who truly care about each other.

The team here is more than just coworkers; we’re like family. Everyone is kind, respectful, and always willing to lend a hand, whether it’s a busy shift or a quiet afternoon. The management team leads with compassion and professionalism, and they genuinely look out for both the staff and our guests.

Our regular customers are another highlight of the job — seeing familiar faces and building relationships with them over time makes each shift enjoyable and meaningful.

Working in this environment has helped me grow both personally and professionally, and I’m genuinely proud to be part of such a great place. I’m thankful every day for the people I work with and the community we’ve built together.

One of the better restaurants to work at in Victoria. Easy to make friends (though I personally kept to myself since there usually was a lot of drama and gossiping happening while I worked there - but that's normal in most hospitality environments). Managers are super kind. They're always there to help out if needed. Gets super busy in the summer, so if you like being on your feet all day and keeping busy, then this job would be good for you. I personally felt too burnt out after the second month and moved on to a more easygoing job. I heard that tips are super good for servers... that's all. 

Glo will hire new servers over promoting server assistants that already know the restaurant well. 
Tips aren't great for server assistants.
Server assistants have to take care of the whole restaurant and run around constantly while servers tend to stand around and do nothing.
When hired if you say you want full time they will barely schedule you. Then when you inevitably get a second job to pay the bills, they will schedule you all the time.

Working at Glo has been an incredible experience. From day one, I was welcomed into a friendly atmosphere. The leadership genuinely cares about the team's wellbeing. I have made long time friends and memories I’ll cherish. 

I highly recommend Glo Restaurant anyone seeking a fun and positive setting. They have the best work life balance It’s truly the best place I've ever worked!

Only leaving because I graduated and started my career. 


If you like being disregarded and mistreated by managers, you will love Glo! Most servers and managers were too superior to interact with new staff/ support staff at all. Throughout my year of working here, I continued to experience exclusion the entire time despite being hardworking and competent.

The owner thought changing his diner staff into fine dining staff was the answer. He has no idea what fine dining means. He has let his 20 yr old staff run the place. Chauvinism is the key to his success. 
Place is a joke

Great work environment. Management is supportive and wants you to succeed and grow. Fun atmosphere to be in! Training is very detailed and helpful. Beautiful view while you work, you want to work here! Ive made the best friends for life here.

Most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with customers. Worst part was dealing with servers who treated hosts with no respect. Management was also horrible. I would not recommend working here.

If your a senior staff member and friendly with the management, then you're most likely to get best sections and shifts. Management does not address concerns. Popular spot in the summer. 

You know what a restaurant is.  This is one.  Huge staff with big turnover, lots of teenagers, some great people, pretty water, issues with payroll and tip outs - it’s okay.  For what it is.
