Hearing Solutions is an incredible company to work for. I have found the corporate culture to be extremely warm, welcoming, supportive, and growth-oriented. 

I personally have not experienced any of the issues mentioned in previous negative reviews during my 2.5 years working here. I believe they may reflect some issues from the past, but the company has undergone a lot of change over the last few years and has cultivated an incredible team from the clinic level all the way up through middle management and the executive team. I have never felt micromanaged and find the Clinical Managers and team at head office to be extremely approachable. 

Communication flows easily up and down to managers and there is a strong focus on employee feedback. Suggestions are highly valued and implemented quickly so you can actually see changes take place, leading to a feeling of real contribution to the success and improvement of the company. There are also opportunities for personal/career growth as well as optional involvement in new projects depending on your interests.

Monthly sales targets are reasonable and supported across different departments, so it's a collaborative approach without putting pressure on any one team member. Patient care is always a priority and the sales aspect comes secondary to that. Support is provided freely and often if individuals or clinics are struggling and managers support staff with coaching and feedback.

Having a direct impact on improving the lives of patients is extremely rewarding, and the company culture is warm and honestly very fun. It is truly an amazing group of people and the sense of community and support within the company makes you look forward to going in for work. I would highly recommend working here. I am only leaving to pursue further education, otherwise would stay for the amazing team!


Hearing Solutions is different from other clinical jobs I've had in that the company is big enough to have some clout (biggest independent in Ontario) but small enough that you actually have a voice and can be part of the changes. Feedback is viewed as a two way street both given freely and regularly to the employee and expected in turn (also quite regularly) so that the company can adapt.   

There are expectations around performance but that's only scary if you don't intend to do a good job...and the fact that there is a lot of transparency around it is kind of nice because most companies have goals and expectations anyways, they just don't always share details on what they are, how they come up with them or how you're expected to achieve them. Hearing Solutions offers lots of job clarity in terms of procedures, training and support (more than anywhere else I've seen or heard of) which is amazing for new clinicians but also anyone as you know exactly whats expected of you. There are also lots of opportunities to be involved in other ways which keeps the work interesting in other ways. 

All in all, it's a great job where you get to help people every day and can feel supported because the other employees (front staff, management etc.) actually care how things are being done and that people are getting the help they should. As a bonus the team has a lot of fun when they get together as a group (which is fairly often).

The company expected so much work and commitment for being paid at minimum wage. There was so much pressure to call previous clients continuously (every week) and it almost feels like we are harassing the clients! This company doesn’t care for employee retention as they are quick to get rid of any employee (in a nonprofessional way). Part-timers were the bottom of the food chain. There was so much expected for the part time staff that worked full time hours. Yet there was never any appreciation towards the part time staff and the work they do. Without the part time staff the clinics would not be running. The company also claims that bonuses will be received for the part time staff if they book a certain number of appointments. I have never received any additional money and when the management team was inquired, they claimed it was still under review. Most clinicians have extreme pressure from the management team to exceed monthly goals. This forces the clinicians to be more sales orientated rather than patient cantered. Overall, I enjoyed working with the clinicians and other CCC’s but the management made working at hearing solutions unpleasant. I would not recommend working at this place if you are looking for a permanent full time job. 

This was a typical call centre position with micromanaging around KPIs (e.g., calls made, appointments booked, time spent in between calls, even washroom breaks were timed and controlled). It is extremely monotonous, everyday is the same. 

There were monthly $50-100 amazon gift cards draws however the employees who had been working there for 4-10 years were always winning because the rules favoured them.

They made us call the same clients every 3-7 days until they booked an appointment or finally told us to never call again. I spent everyday calling and harassing elderly people. It was very predatory-like behaviour but they play it off to make it seem like they care about the patients' health and wellbeing. Nope - they just want them to buy hearing aids. I wouldn't recommend family or friends to work at Hearing Solutions or use their services. 

The culture is toxic and they used to care about patients, but now it's all about the bottom line.  Clinicians can no longer offer discounts to patients making it impossible to sell to patients.  All head office cares about is sales and it comes from a place of desperation or perhaps financial trouble.  
They got rid of the people who cared about patients at head office and moved in this new team of executives who have no clue about patient care.  
One executive in particular sends out her underling to spy in clinics and observe appointments and then report back with any information that this exec can use against the clinic for why they aren't hitting goals.  Meanwhile their department does nothing to bring in qualified opportunities.  Fellow Audiologists and HIS'... run don't walk from this place!!

The best thing about this place is how they are strict with the hours working (9-5 no more and no less) but that's only because they don't want to pay overtime. This job is bleak and depressing. You learn absolutely no skills, you're not required to think critically. It is a call centre with unrealistic expectations and awful compensation (bonuses or incentives). I feel like I'm wasting my skills on this job. They don't offer internal job postings. They do not have room for growth and HR is a mess. This job could be great if you're one of the higher ups but as for the lower employees, you're not even acknowledged or recognized. Not worth it. They don't even offer vision insurance!!!!

Depending on your position and the location you work, your experience can vary.  If you are a full time ccc, you are underpaid for the work you do. If you are a part time ccc, you should not have as much responsibilities are the full time ccc. But you may get taken advantage of and be asked to do duties outside of your role for minimum wage and no job advancement opportunities. 

If you are a clinician, you are expected to sell and meet targets. The company culture is poor, those who sell more are favored by management. 

The most enjoyable part is that you get to meet some nice customers at certain locations and the hardest part was selling.

If you're looking for a stress free, easy job then you have come to the right place. As long as you're doing what is expected of you, then you shouldn't run into any issues. Management is supportive, and the HR and Finance departments are amazing! The finance department is really well run they will always help you out. I love working at hearing solutions, and I would definitely recommend it to others looking for work. I am not too sure where all the bad reviews are coming from- obviously they weren't doing their jobs properly or they weren't grateful for what they had at Hearing Solutions. 

Further, its a great company- seriously- great company

Hearing Solutions highly focuses on best practices and they always make sure all clinicians are following the best practices in the care delivery. It is the best company for anyone interested in professional development as they have monthly audiology meetings which cover different topics and will also allow you to attend any courses/conferences if interested. Clinicians will be well supported to progress their carrier within the company. Hearing solutions have a fantastic leadership team and they are always open and transparent to the employees. Work culture was not great in the past but now they are working tirelessly to improve the culture. I would rate the work culture 8/10 now.

Hearing Solutions is competitive for the "Worst place to work in Industry in Ontario". Award. If the company is big enough for you to have heard of, it's probably better than this place.

The interviews are amongst the worst I have seen and its a window into what you can expect working there. Management is incompetent to the extreme. Everyone there is paid so little they just don't care and it shows every step of the way. 

Don't be surprised if they forget to call you back after the interview or have scheduled you for an interview after the position has already been filled. 

Work here if you are desperate and move on as soon as possible.
