Typical work day: expect to be busy and have meeting with folks in the community as well as community partners, management, marginalized and underserved individuals. 
I’ve learned to listen really well and work in a team. 
Management is amazing, great leaders and have learned so much from them. Always open and impactful in the way the approach. 

Most enjoyable part- the people and my colleagues. Amazing humans with so much knowledge and heart. 

Good work place culture. 
The hardest part of the job at times is work life balance. However, management is very supportive and helpful with this regard. 

The staff have great hearts, and work towards bettering the community, the residents, and the vulnerable population. Their interdisciplinary approach is sound, Systems Navigators to assist clients with navigating complex governmental systems. The focus shifted during my tenure from community development to clinic, likely due to the funding model.

All of the staff at LIHC have a singular focus - the client. Although there are many hurdles to overcome with an old building, limited funding and a LOT of bureaucracy, the clients are well looked after and happy.

Finally a job with great work life balance and the connection to humans in the city. I can make a difference, get paid to do it, and not be burnt out! The staff are genuine, and the management are honest and realistic.

Excellent beginning of the day with upper and all staff, as a circle hub.
How to cause effect and change in the clientele
working with peers is awesome everyone is helpful, open, great sense of humour, professional .
Hardest part of the job was leaving.
Most enjoyable is the team!!

I loved the work very much and I had an amazing team. Everyone there is doing good work. I found the environment hard for myself especially being a woman of color.  I felt very isolated. Before I a new staff and I started taking it felt better, but I was already leaving.



I was a student at Trios College for a Medical Office Assistant and did a job placement for Intercommunity Health for a period of approximately 1 month and enjoyed the job as I was able to help potential clients with some of their medical needs.

Working as a volunteer I have the opportunity to interact with the seniors.
Also I had the opportunity to  enter the survey data that other volunteers make to their clients.

As a volunteer only position, monetary payment is non-existant however the benefits you gain through helping others cannot be valued.....it's also an awesome opportunity to gain experience and knowledge 

Great multidisciplinary environment, relaxed and easy. I enjoyed working with Colleauge, all very kind and open minded with patient focus in mind. management can be more open with front line staff.
