I did not enjoy my time at this company. It wasn't the right personal fit for me. While I am very comfortable in a structured, professional office atmosphere, MSC was an overly rule-oriented and micro-managed company. It is the type of atmosphere where management noticed if an employee punched in 5 minutes late, but did not notice if an employee worked hours in overtime.

This being said, I very much liked my supervisor and colleagues and the upper management was slowly moving from an older generation to a much younger generation. It is possible that a slow transition was in effect behind the scenes that hadn't yet trickled down to the employees.

On a personal level the work was very technical, not very stimulating and very monotonous.

Great place to acquire experience. MSC offers no training so its is sink or swim in most cases, but it makes you better, more knowledgeable in the end. Great co-workers. The managers themselves were great, but company structure was not the best and for that reason a lot of time and money was lost. If working at MSC, you have to expect to do other people and departments tasks. Most enjoyable part was that everyday was different and you really get the chance to tackle every situation thrown at you. ad constantly learned new

We worked closely with our colleagues and also with the kitchen staff  to ensure guest satisfaction. We cooperate with our supervisor and team. As a waitress working in cruise ship, it's really hard to deal with people that have a different cultures, beliefs and personality. But the good thing about this matter I learned to be friendly and gained  a self  confidence. It's really good to know that you gave the guest satisfaction that they're expecting from us, as a service provider. Working in Mediterranean shipping company, I got able to travel the world for free and got  a good salary, enough to provide my family.

I worked there for about 6 months as an import VIP rep. They wanted you to be everywhere at once and make everything a priority at the same time. Mounts of emails (think about 900+ without any exaggeration), reports, and phone calls were a few tasks to name.

Then as if that wasn't bad enough, management-- at least the one I had -- would call in and berate you for not working fast enough despite the explanations that there's so much going on.

Only thing I commend them for is increasing salary by 5k when they realized work was becoming alot more than what they initially hired the team for. But the salary in the end wasn't worth the insanity.

a typical day consist of about 150 emails, 60 to 70 phone calls from all stakeholders> learn everyday that always be at the top of your work and have a good back up record. Management always has to come in to help when there is a problem that need trouble shooting. Always refer duties that are not for you to the appropriate quarters. The hardest part is to keep tract with the followup for all the different stakeholders. The most fun of it is when i seethe client happy for a positive result and all the words of appreciations.

Being a seafarer is not an easy job but ones benefits a lot in life.
Personally i learned self respect and motivation,
i learned how time is equal to money and how money is equal to motivation,
i have learned a lot of culture and lanuguages,
the way of living in a group, in a society of different culture,
i have personally developed a working and team spirit and grow toward success of the company and ours.

I WORK 24HOURS IN MY DEPARTMENT BUT NO EQUAL ALLOWANCE IN THAT REGARDS.
NO JOB SECURITY AT ALL I WORK BASED ON CONTRACT AS WELL BUT NO GOOD NEGOTIATION OR HR TO FIGHT FOR BETTER TERMS FOR US , IF YOU TRY TO TALK ABOUT THAT UYOU ARE FIRED WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT....

They have absolutely no respect for their employees, they bully everybody . lead by fear. extremely poor decision making by upper manager. Very inexperienced. No respect for any employee. Hypo critics for they ask everyone to save money yet management spend money like it grows on tress...all on entertainment.

You work likes the trucks running on the highway, very high pace. 
Lots of deadline to meet, for example, documents cut off, port cut off, container release and so on. 
Company organize parties for different events, like family, Easter Friday, Christmas as well.

If you are looking for career advancement, you the chances are very slim. However, if you are not ambitious and want a stable job, you will be satisfied here. You will also be able to learn everything about maritme transport.
