Not here to critique the work. More like to give an insight into office staff. I'm a production employee.  Been there awhile. Got a nasty bug while on temp leave from job. Hit me right between the eyes like an arrow out of nowhere. No, it ain't Covid ( protect yourself brothers and sisters). It's something the Doctors are still trying to figure out. 
    
      And it's been goin' on three months now. The world being what it is. Meridian being a huge international behemoth of a business. I naturally figured "I'm outta here. I'm toast".  Long story short: contacted the office with  a subtle "been nice to work there. No hard feelings" letter, figuring "Why drag on the inevitable?"

      To my surprise, immediately got response from head office, saying basically however long it takes you and your doctors to get over this hill your job will always be here on the other side. How's that for upper management/production worker tête-à-tête? In these brutal times we're all suffering through, to have an International giant of a corporation stand up and by your side? That's something, bro. 

      I've always known that the folk on the floor are cream of the crop, stand up and by you ppl.  But to find out the ppl at the top got my back too? 

      Like I said before that says a lot about an employer: and it's all good.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Five week shift rotation one week days, one week afternoon, one week of nights, then 2 12 hour nights, weekdays off and 12 hours Saturday and Sunday. Then a week off and back to the start.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Hazards of working in a magnesium foundry.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Co-workers are generally good to work with. Production supervisors can be a challenge to work with.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Show up, get dressed, get turnover, get dirty working on machines

personally had a great experience at Meridian. A workers attitude is what makes or breaks it. 
Hours are normal if you are okay with shift work. During peak times working 6 days a week is typical. (And often mandatory)
Those who work hard and prove themselves and show resilience are very likely to move up. Have witnessed firsthand that if you show interest and a good work ethic, you are on your way up the ladder if you show that you want it.  
Pay and benefits were great. Management has been good to work with and are very helpful. But remember, respect is a two way street! 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Zero communication from management or Human Resources. Toxic environment full of negativity and team leaders who don’t know their job or what is involved in their job description 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No communication very little training from team leaders 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic. Diversity is there and everyone gets along.  However, zero concern for health and safety

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful. Everything is about numbers no concern for quality

What is the best part of working at the company?
The money and some of the people. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Being stuck on the same machine day after day with no chance of rotation because your the only one that can get the numbers they want.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hot in the summers other then that not to bad. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Being stuck on the same machine for hours and hours with no rotation to another machine. Very repetitive. Gets boring. Depending on cell you are working in, it could get heavy after the long hours.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Decent pay and benefits, two week shift rotation for Die Cast Operator/ Team Lead. Paid holiday and overtime opportunity. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is a lot to learn in regard to Die Cast and the Die Cast machines. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is hot and loud so ear protection is required, foundry PPE is provided and work boots are paid for by the company. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Shifts go fast, daily challenges keep it interesting.

Day starts with a meeting with your team lead. They assign you where to go which machine you’ll operate. You’ll spend 2 hours working and then a 20 minute break for the whole 8 hour shift. The team leads are helpful. You must record production numbers which is easy to count. You must clean your machines frequently. It’s a dirty job but it’s ok. Shift work was the hardest part. Once you’re hired on you get good benefits and coveralls. There was lots of overtime available. Supervisor was great to work with. 

Money wise they pay Well and have good Benefits but the downside is huge
-Mandatory OT pretty well every weekend pretty well 6 months straight of mandatory OT every Saturday 
-Rotating 3 shifts every 2 weeks so there’s literally no time to adjust when working 6 days a week 
- a lot of people just don’t want to be there and it shows as there is a huge turnover in employees 


Worked here for many years. Started in production, got an apprenticeship in the maintenance department and eventually got my ticket while working here. The people are great, the machines are old and have had too many bandaids over the years. Maintenance crews are small so keeping up with what needs to be done is a challenge, especially when it comes to being proactive. Overall, if you work hard, you have a good chance to advance further if you chose to do so. 

Fun environment to work, but if management doesn’t like you, you’re gone.
Pay is great, production is great, but management is horrible. They will let you go for no reason and leave you high and dry
