Honestly a pretty unmotivating place to work, you just get criticized from the manager with everything you do and you never hear a "good job". I have lots of respect for my managers and I believe a manager should definitely be looked up to and it's great if they're a little strict, but  this guy wouldn't even crack a smile in my direction! Even when I made a great sale once, he asked me if it was my first sale, I responded in a respectful clear tone, "no I've had about 4 more before this" and he cuts me off and says "YOU NEED TO SPEAK LOUDER. STOP BEING SO QUIET. USE YOUR VOICE" ... well then. Thanks for cutting me off and not acknowledging my response to your question. I know we have to be loud speaking to customers but I am not going to scream at my manager, it's just not me! I believe there should be respect given and basically yelling is not my thing.  My last straw before I quit was when I decided to stay 15 minutes extra after my shift (keep in mind you don't get paid for this, I decided to do it to help them out) about 15 minutes after my shift ended, I log out of my account and am about to turn off my computer. My phone was ringing but the phone is always ringing, so I didn't bother looking at it as I was about to leave, all of a sudden this manager turns around and screams "look at your phone! You need to pay attention!!! You need to constantly be talking on the phone. You can't be silent!" and he doesn't even let me get a word in and instantly flashes me a customer on the line... I felt so disrespected, I had to quickly try and keep the customer busy while I was restarting my computer. I ended up leaving 30 minutes after my shift ended (no compensation once again, completely me wanting to help them) and as I leave I said "Goodbye Mr. __" to my manager... could you believe it if I said he didn't even look at me?! Didn't even acknowledge me after the disrespect I encountered. I was done. Horrible company. Not even a thanks for staying extra, nothing. Never ever got a thank you, or good job for anything from anyone besides my supervisor. She was great and needs to replace the manager, at least she has some humanity and kindness in her.  Oh, don't even get me started on the pay. You're better off working at your local costco.

Debt collection is not for everyone. An applicant must understand that they will be challenged on a daily basis to maintain professionalism and use their best problem-solving and critical-thinking skills while dealing with the public on what will likely not be that person's best day. But, if you understand that "business is business" and you are able to think on your feet, you can succeed here. Monthly targets are fair and are set depending on different factors, such as the number of collectors on your team, the amount of listed business for the month, and your previous months' numbers. Management is very hands-on and operate an open-door policy, and know that their employees are their #1 asset. Salary is comparable and dependent upon experience, but can be drastically compensated for with a generous commission incentive. We have a Party Planning Committee, and often do office lunches after good months. This is a great company to be with, either for experienced collectors or those just cutting their teeth.

On a day to day basis our responsibilities deal with contacting new business clients, advising about delinquent collection account, regulating disputes and dealing with outstanding balances. Overall the co-workers are amazing. The hardest part of the job i would say it working longer hours. Hours were day time however late night and a sat here are there was required in order to contact people in the evening and weekend times. After a few months however it because easier to do. The most enjoyable part of the job was to help people get their account out of collections. The people at the workplace are over all great and always try to teach you better ways of collecting and training is always available. Overall a lot of skills were received from this company like time-managements, organization, phone skills -both on phone and directing call-, dialing numbers as so on. Its a good company to work for to get the required skills for your upcoming employment.

I worked here for about a year. my co-workers were great, friendly, funny and made it fun to show up to work. Management was rude and disrespectful and acted as though they were doing you a favor by keeping you employed. They spoke down to you, and told you confidential information ( they were going to fire you, but they are giving you a chance). they play favorites as well, if you hit your target every month, then they will accommodate your needs, and give you big files to collect on. If you aren't the best collector, or do not hit your target every month, you are swept under the rug. Everything is a numbers game. The christmas party is dreadful, we had it in the office, did not take the time the book a hall or take us out to a nice restaurant. Everyone gosspis over there, including managers. I told my manager confidential information about a personal situation i was going through, which is why i would be taking time off, and it was discussed with the other managers.

I started out at MetCredit as a student. It was my first job, and I was eager but inexperienced. They worked with me to gain skills and confidence, and I learned a lot about different business models, accounts receivable and many other aspects of dealing with customers. I admired the constant encouragement to uphold respect for the individual in all situations. That is something I have carried me in building my career and taking on bigger challenges. Yes, it's challenging work. Performance matters. Just like in real life. Now, with a young family, I would definitely encourage my kids to work at MetCredit, because they would have the opportunity to learn as much as I did. The CEO worked his way up from the collection floor, and takes interest in people who are professional, show ambition, and understand the value of respect.

This company has a revolving door. I was constantly moved between departments, and was advised that my job was at risk multiple times. Management gossips between each other, about personal information of employees. The pay is horrible, but they act like they are doing you a favor. If you don't hit your target then they expect you to work overtime while making you feel horrible. If you join the company you will get old files, or files that have been burnt. If managers like you, then they will give you the new files, it is a favorites game.
The benefits are no good, 50% coverage, and they charge $14 for the coffee machine in the breakroom. If you dont drink the coffee, they do not care, and it tastes horrible! 
My supervisor did not follow the dress code, and was demeaning to team members. She acted as though she was above everyone, and had no respect

Coming from a completely different freelance background I was at first overwhelmed by the bulk of information to be learned and skills perfected. I was super surprised how quickly I got comfortable with the entire structure of both systems implemented and the team culture. Every day feels like "challenge accepted" but when you are working hard it pays off. All of team members are super supportive which uplifts your spirit on the daily basis. Management is absolutely open-minded and helpful, always ready to ask questions and provide assistance. I would never imagine being a collection officer, but it is a job worth putting your energy towards as it pays back.

Daily responsibilities include calling clients with high or low over due balances and as siting them in reducing the balance owed

Working with this company one should expect to obtain knowledge in credit applications, quantrax and eqifax knowledge.  

Management and co workers are easy to get along with as long as you are making sales and not taking their clients

The most challenging part of the job is getting the client to understand what neglecting to clear their outstanding glance will do to them but on the opposite side the most enjoyable part of the day is see a client you have spoken to, agree to clear their outstanding balance and

Where to even begin. The management is awful and their goals are completely unattainable. They will make you feel like you’re never doing enough and that there’s always something wrong with what you’re doing. My direct manager had serious superiority problems. Your job will be to lie and intimidate people. You will be told to refer debtors to mortgage brokers which are very shady and could result in these people losing their homes. It’s honestly just disgusting and you will go home every day feeling like a villain. The ONLY upside to the job are the benefits of you can manage to get past the probationary period. But then again, getting screamed and cursed at everyday is a guarantee…. So overall, not worth it.
