Miracle Ear

I enjoyed my time working at Miracle-Ear.  I enjoyed my location, the provider I worked with, and especially enjoyed building relationships with my clients and colleagues.  I learned a lot about myself and my ability to think quick on my feet and developed new skills in customer service/office assisting.  I also learned about hearing conservation and gained a lot of respect for the hearing industry and am amazed at how the technology of hearing aids are.

Though Miracle-Ear Canada is considering a hearing clinic where individuals come for hearing advices, it is still considered retail.  With that said, making sales is very important and at times you are pressured by management to make your numbers.  The management team has a tendency of being highly secretive and lacks communications on all ends.  There seems to be a poor structure in training new employees and again the lack of communication when new protocols and procedures are made.  There is a high turnover rate on all ends of departments.  Management should communicate better amongst other themselves for better flow of what is currently happening.  Management should not take constructive feedback from employees as a personal attack on them or their work ethics.  

There seems to be no efforts from management to help build your career within the company.  They like to state that they will support you on all ends, but when you are given the opportunity, management does not follow through.

All of the people I work with are really cool and easy to get along with. That being said it remains a professional environment. It is fast paced and there is always something that can be done, which I enjoy as I never get bored and it makes the work day go by quickly. They have also given me opportunities to show my skills in areas other than what I was hired for, like designing new newspaper ads, which I have enjoyed. I am not micro-managed, yet I still receive instruction when needed. For me, this really works and makes me feel independently successful.

Came to work with NO training. Learned how to do everything on the fly in a super busy clinic. Upper management had no issues blaming us FOAs for other peoples mistakes and errors resulting in a slap in the face pay raise the first year and no pay raises in the 2nd year. Unapproachable management and your opinions do not matter. Fun co-workers but wage is not worth it for the job duties required.

Was a good place to work overall. Did end up changing hands during my time there which cause everything to change. Did not find an opportunity for the advancement I was promised in the beginning. When I did need to deal with medical leave for a surgery and appointments prior, they were fantastic! I did have to provide documentation like any other job but the HR and immediate supervisor where very understanding.

Liked dealing with clients and helping them to be able to hear better. I liked counselling clients on how to use their hearing aids and motivating them to wear the hearing aids daily.  Dealing with different personalities makes this job challenging. I really like testing people s hearing and recommending which hearing aid they should purchase.

This was the worst company and place that I have ever worked for. It was a very toxic work environment starting with the management and trickling down to the staff. Management was very clicky and if you didn’t talk about other staff behind there back then you weren’t accepted there.

No matter what I scheduled, someone complained.  Such a stressful place to work. The company actually sent sales progress reports on Christmas day. You would get back to work after holidays and there were the quotas and sale reports.

Miracle Ear has a great company structure with wonderful leadership.  The teamwork aspect of this company makes it comforting to know I have many people to reach out to when need be.  The day to day operations are typically fast paced and rewarding, both emotionally and financially.

Always something to laugh about. Enjoyed the mission of changing the lives of people. Inspiring stories of how our people help people to enjoy their lives more.

This was the worst place I have ever worked.  The store was very clicky and because the people that were working there didn't have any say in 
my being hired there they treated me like garbage for almost 2 years.
Until I quit.
