What is the best part of working at the company?
Spending the day being fairly independent and doing your delivery route was a really easy way to spend the day. Specially if you enjoy driving. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I found the most stressful part was simply learning the norms of the industry. Who to talk to, where to go, where to park for deliveries in busier areas. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work culture is quite nice! while I never took anyone up on the offers I was often asked if I'd stay around after a shift. They encourage growth within the company and are understanding and helpful to life circumstances. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The typical work day was a soft start, as there are multiple drivers so showing up earlier or later depends on the day and and amount of deliveries. Once at Oast I would load the my van and plan my route for the day, check to see if i had special deliveries or pickups that were needed outside of the normal deliveries or if i needed cleaning equipment. 
Then I'd leave for the day and do my deliveries. once the first round of deliveries are done its back to Oast to check if there are any new orders to go out that day before heading home.

I have absolutely nothing good to say about my time with Oast House.  The owners constantly micromanage everything, they appoint everyone to a "supervisor" role with no pay raise, they make you sign a 2 year contact to stay in the role your hired in and give you a hard time when the 2 years is up. 

Everyone is miserable and talk bad about the company but when the owners are around, everyone praises them like they are royalty. Fact check... they aren't, they are horrible people and even worse business owners/bosses. 

If you know more about your job then the owners, they will find a way to make your worklife miserable to the point you quit or they find a reason to fire you. They constantly take advantage of people just wanting to work at a brewery thinking it will be an awesome job, thankfully it was realized for myself before it was too late. 

The owners at Oast have created a very toxic environment to be in, they lack communication skills and set unclear expectations for management and staff. When those poorly communicated expectations are not met, they talk behind employees backs but never actually bring up issues directly to the people who may have made the mistake, creating a very confusing and mentally draining environment to work in.

They promise opportunities for growth and learning but never follow-up on them and when asked about them there is always an excuse as to why they have yet to provide them. There are a lot of great people who work there, but unfortunately the toxic environment makes most people leave. The constant turnover makes it difficult for growth and development to really happen. 


I had the opportunity to work at Niagara Oast House Brewers in a variety of roles from retail sales associate and providing tours of the brewery, to serving food & drinks on the patio & during events in the Hayloft. The patio is a fast-paced work environment in the summer, but it’s a lot of fun & a great opportunity to work as a team. I often miss the unbeatable views of the vineyard! One of my favourite parts of working at Oast was the mix of getting to know the locals, but also meeting tourists visiting from all over the world. The owners are very kind & caring. I’ve also made great, lifelong friendships with the people I worked with. I’d highly recommend working at Oast!

Don’t do it.
The turnover is insane, you almost don’t need to waste time getting to learn staff names in the summer since they’ll be gone in a week after finding something better or getting mysteriously let go. You will never get a raise, just more work for the same pay. Never trust a place that says “we’re a family here,” you might get a couple slices of pizza instead of better compensation. Yay! You will walk on eggshells with constant anxiety and get relentlessly talked about behind your back. It’s like high school with how much gossip goes through the place. If you cherish your mental health and time, don’t do it. 

I have nothing but positive things to say for this! During my tenure at Niagara Oast House Brewery, I was given the opportunity many times to work in different areas of retail, serving, events and marketing to learn new skills and experience new challenges. The staff were amazing, the managers caring and great leaders, and the owners so kind and giving. They set you up to succeed, weather you end up staying or are just there for a season. I have made lifelong friends working there and learned so much about the craft beer industry and how to be a successful leader.

Since starting at Oast as a Driver, my experience here has been exciting to say the least. The management and owners are respectful and understanding. I’ve had a lot of experience working for other companies and I’m glad to say that I found a second home here and as a family man, it is important to me to have a good work life balance. Staff members and co-workers are great, really family oriented company. I have grown a lot as an individual, as a professional. Hard work is appreciated here and for that I am grateful to be apart of the team.

Oast House offers a fun and upbeat work environment that is dynamic and fast paced. Whether you are serving the latest brews at the tasting bar, hanging with locals on the Patio or part of a event in the Hayloft, there is a team working together to make it happen.  The owners/managers are loyal, generous, hard working and hands on when they need to be.  If you want to be part of a group of people who are passionate about hospitality and appreciate great people, beer and food, Oast is the place. 

Refreshing to see owners so hands on and willing to train and give opportunities to all team members! Premium beer and fun seasonal selections made with local ingredients. It’s nice to see the value that is put on their team and recognized as not just another number!
