What is the best part of working at the company?
Great place to work if you like a challenge. Every scenario is different and requires an open mind and problem solving skills.  Best part is supporting our vulnerable population and providing housing and support to those in need.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Being prepared for anything, fires,  over doses, angry clients,  list goes on.  You need to have a good head on your shoulders, and be confident with your approach. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment can be hectic, but the staff and clients can be great. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Supporting clients, some cleaning, problem solving, providing access to areas for clients, tracking client requests and reporting issues or concerns.

Progressive Housing Society is a famous Housing Society in Canada. It has mentionable contribution to build up safe and reliable for the people of Canada. It is a target oriented Housing Society. It has a sound management body. It provides friendly working for the workers. It provides customized house for the customers. The Housing society is committed to provide best services for it's clients. It is also eco friendly. It ensures the highest security for the clients. It product is economy, efficiency and effeteness. I am luck enough to introduce such a nice Housing society.      

The pay is really good but advancement is quite limited, unfortunately. I agree as one rater stated management are against unions even though the workplace is unionized. It is low barrier work, so you leave the clients alone, but you do need to check up on them at least once every 24 hrs to make they don't overdose. I left because most of the staff are there for the money not for the clients. It was toxic. I rather take a pay cut and work in a team where colleagues do care about the persons they serve.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It is truly  like my second family. I am blessed to be a part of this community.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
A resident succumbing to an illness

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very compassionate and supportive all  the way around

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Lots of engaging with residents.  Helping and guiding residents to supports within the community. A true family unity feeling

Management is great as well as staff. Since I joined the front line field I constantly came across staff that we in it for the paycheck only but this place has helped me realize there are so many people in this field who care and are in it for the right reasons. People who stay at the shelter/marginal housing adopt the culture quickly as they are shown empathy and understanding from others. 

I applied as a casual community support worker and I never got called for shifts. The company pays good but they are anti-union, so you gotta be careful. If you can actually get a permanent position with them then it is a good gig until you find something better. Nonetheless, the shelter and supporting housing they provide is very low barrier and they do enable their clients. You as a worker come last.

Managers need more communicating. 
Burnout prevention stategies should be implemented ,all staff and managers were suffering from burnout. Difficult clients, staff support needs more training. 

Private life was imposed on , managers snooped staffs facebook for proof of absences, false accusations and hr is unprofessional 

Supportive staff and management. Amazing opportunity to network with different medical professionals. Great paid trainings and some over time. Great company over all

Favouritism, gossip and micromanagement define the culture.
Despite the organization's good cause, favouritism and gossip are the culture. They know the problem and they are happy with it.

Great peers, hands off management, pay is decent, company is very flexible. Shelter worker, supervise and interact with guests. Great food from whole foods. Never have to bring food to work.
