Working at Rejuvenation Dermatology was not a positive experience. While the tasks themselves were manageable, the compensation did not reflect the increasing responsibilities given to Medical Office Assistants (MOAs). Despite handling more duties, the pay remained at $20 per hour, which felt insufficient for the amount of work required.

The front desk team is generally not the issue, but the workplace hierarchy felt very unbalanced. Nurses were held to different standards than MOAs, and the clinic manager often favored them, creating an environment where MOAs felt undervalued and unacknowledged. Unfortunately, the clinic manager’s approachability was lacking, and her favoritism was noticeable.

While doctors occasionally provided food and drinks for nurses, MOAs were expected to serve them, which created a sense of inequity. The clinic manager also made it clear where her priorities lay by giving birthday gifts only to nurses. Additionally, promotion opportunities did not offer substantial pay raises, with some raises only being marginally higher, such as 50 cents per hour after a performance review.

The overall work environment was mentally taxing due to management’s favoritism and the frequency of baseless write-ups. Employees were often not given the chance to defend themselves against false claims or gossip, which contributed to a toxic atmosphere. Unfortunately, the clinic manager’s assistant also contributed to this negativity, often spreading misinformation within the clinic.

If you are seeking a fair and supportive work environment, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a better opportunity.

I was initially excited to join this clinic, as it seemed like a great opportunity to grow and learn in a new environment. Unfortunately, my experience quickly became disappointing.

One major concern was the lack of transparency regarding licensing expectations and employee rights. The workload was also extremely heavy for nursing staff. Nurses were expected to manage billing, charting, assisting with procedures, cleaning rooms, biopsies, cosmetic setups, and patient flow,  booking appointments, cleaning and sterilizing surgical tools etc, often while physicians continued to overbook schedules because their pay is tied to patient volume.

A significant safety concern for me was being expected to perform suturing within my first week of orientation, with minimal formal training beyond being provided a kit and told to watch online videos. As an LPN, this raised concerns about scope of practice and patient safety.

The clinic environment felt highly sales-driven, with strong emphasis placed on promoting skincare products and cosmetic services. At times, this seemed to take priority over patient-centered care.

The workplace culture was also difficult. I found the environment cliquey and unsupportive, particularly toward newer staff. Compensation did not reflect the workload, and there appeared to be a noticeable imbalance between expectations placed on physicians versus nursing staff. They hire new grad nurses because they are naive and won't push back to the very toxic and dangerous working environment.

Overall, the experience was stressful and toxic and you're treated horribly. Truly a nightmare.


Unfortunately, my experience working at Rejuvenation Dermatology Clinic was extremely disappointing due to poor management and a toxic workplace culture.

I noticed that management engages in bullying behaviour, regularly threatening staff with job insecurity and speaking negatively about employees behind their backs. Employees are often pitted against one another, creating an environment of fear, favoritism, and distrust rather than teamwork. There is clear favoritism within the clinic, which directly impacts morale and fairness.

Management presents one version of themselves to HR but treats staff very differently behind closed doors.  Any genuine concerns are not handled safely and team leads are not trustworthy and will report conversations back to management, making it impossible to raise issues without fear of retaliation.

Micromanagement is excessive, leaving no room to foster healthy work relationships or autonomy. Nursing staff receive little to no support and are frequently dismissed, spoken down to, or made to feel undervalued. There is no meaningful opportunity for professional growth or development.

Promises regarding pay raises, education opportunities are repeatedly made and later withdrawn without explanation. This pattern contributes to a lack of trust and stability within the organization.

Overall,  this is not a supportive or growth-oriented environment. I would not recommend this clinic as a workplace for anyone seeking professionalism, respect, or long-term career development.

Unrealistic duties continued to pile on over time and the workload distribution was extremely uneven, with some team members carrying significantly more responsibility than others. After trying to reach out to management for support, it was clear they had little to no desire to make any changes or hold other team members accountable. Employees who carried their workload, were instead given the work others wished to overlook. Management spent their days having cosmetic services done, and chatting in their offices while their staff missed medical appointments to help provide coverage. While internal advancement opportunities were advertised and available for nursing staff, no internal opportunities were presented to other departments, even when they arose. When external postings were made, applications from qualified front desk employees were not acknowledged, and external, lesser qualified, applicants were hired. The favouritism for the nursing team, is harsh, lunches are provided multiple times a week for a team of 25 nurses and doctors but not the 5 front desk members, undesirable nursing duties, become front desk duties, more time off, etc. but we are expected to maintain a healthy relationship between departments. In addition, discussions around raises, and promotions, did not lead to follow-through, which contributed to a lack of trust in management and an overall feeling of being strung along and lied to.

What is the best part of working at the company?
This is not an environment that supports professional growth. Expectations are constantly changing, with new tasks and responsibilities added almost weekly. Staff are expected to immediately retain and implement these updates, and failure to do so can result in being written up—even for minor issues, such as missing or not engaging with a text message update. This creates a stressful atmosphere rather than one that promotes learning and support.

Additionally, there is a noticeable lack of recognition for frontline staff. When head office or the CEO visits, there is little to no acknowledgment of non-management employees, despite their critical role in keeping the clinic running day to day.

There are also concerns regarding compensation transparency. Nurses are expected to contribute to sales; however, we do not have access to the platform that tracks commissions. This makes it difficult to verify whether commissions are applied and creates little incentive to participate, especially when it appears that only front desk staff benefit from these efforts.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this workplace to others unless they are prepared for a high level of stress, burnout, and limited support.

While I worked there, the job itself was fine. I enjoyed the people there that I worked with (specifically the other Patient Care Coordinators) and helping patients, but when you get past that and look at the organization itself, it is truly a horrible organization that doesn't care about their employees. After I had just started, two people in my position had quit which I knew was a red flag. From the get go I wasn't provided with proper training, and when they wanted to give me feedback they decided that the best approach was to call me into a meeting where I heard from 3 different people about things I needed to work on. Only when I asked the next morning did they give me any positive feedback. l also felt as though there was no grace for mistakes made which is not conducive to learning either, especially since they hired me knowing I had no prior experience in a medical office! Within just under two months they expected perfection and called me out on mistakes that even management made as well! Never before has a company made me feel so disposable like a piece of trash!

Don't bother applying if you value job security and healthy work culture. This company does not care about you, your potential, or your growth. 

I worked at Rejuvenation as a LPN at the Windermere location. The doctors and team leads always made it a fun environment and no two days were ever the same.  Clinical and regional management is why my review rating is so low.  I’m not sure if it was from just their lack of experience or a bit to much ego but they made it a very negative  environment when around.  They would say one thing and end up doing the complete opposite and were full of empty promises.  I had asked for a raise after my review and they made me feel like I was asking for the world and then some.  After a few weeks of “waiting” Regional management said I needed to talk to HR and HR said I needed to talk to management.  Im assuming this was a tactic to avoid giving me the raise.  If you are part of their “social drinking circle” all you have to do is snap your fingers and you will get what you want, but if your not, you are treated as just an exposable number by management.  Sadly that is how promotions are given within this company.  Not because of experience but if you are amongst their friends.   I’m at a different company now, getting paid more and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.  Rejuvenation truly has a beautiful facility with some of the best technologies but sadly the management is what makes it not worth while with such a drastic staff turnover.    

When hired, we were promised so much by the management team. Fast forward- they overwork their team and overpromised things that they could not deliver. The management team is inexperienced and don’t have any idea what they are doing. Team members are favoured and the department leads are constantly getting away with doing absolutely nothing. They sit in rooms gossiping about staff and doctors. Nurses are expected to work through their breaks and accommodate unrealistic expectations by the doctors…sometimes that are even questionable that should be allowed. When the upper management team is in, they stand around gossiping with each other, giving you uncomfortable looks. You can feel how uneasy everyone is when they are in. They are constantly understaffed. Plus they underpay staff. You will notice that they are constantly hiring. Clearly because they are unable to retain staff due to poor management. 

The one positive - is their doctors. Most of them are super helpful and always go out of their way to train staff. It’s quiet sad that management is so terrible. 

You have been warned- do not work for this place! As a nurse, compensation and a more positive work environment compared to this place is basically anywhere else.

If you are interested in dermatology, this can be a good place to gain initial exposure and hands-on experience. However, after about a year, growth opportunities become very limited and career development tends to plateau. There is little opportunity for advancement or pay increases.

Employees should also be aware that job security can feel unstable, and raising concerns may be poorly received. For nursing staff in particular, concerns are often dismissed rather than addressed. The workplace culture appears to prioritize profit over quality patient care, which can be discouraging for those who value professional standards and patient safety. Staff are frequently overworked and expected to stay beyond their scheduled hours. There is a high level of micromanagement in the workplace. Nursing staff are frequently threatened with penalties on their employment records or termination, rather than being recognized or rewarded for the significant amount of work and dedication they contribute to the clinic daily. 

When I first started, I was genuinely excited because this was a field I was interested in growing in. During my interview, I was told there would be opportunities for growth, but unfortunately that did not turn out to be true.

Over time, I noticed a very toxic work environment. Some staff had a “mean girl” mentality, and there was a lot of talking behind people’s backs — between nurses, doctors, front staff, and management. Some doctors were unwilling to teach and easily became frustrated, which made learning difficult. There was also a strong feeling that nurses are replaceable, and I believe that mindset is a big reason why retention is so poor.

In terms of growth and development, there really isn’t any. The workplace is constantly hiring new staff, which leaves no time to properly train or support existing nurses. Team leads were supportive at first, but eventually began treating staff like children, while not always following the same expectations themselves.

It’s disappointing, because this place truly had the potential to be great. Unfortunately, the toxic culture and lack of support make it hard for people to stay.
